BY A PHYSICIAN, ON THE [ASSOCIATED PRESS NEWS APP.] So here's a whole article devoted to debunking vaccine myths with a physician quoted as telling a patient vaccines work "just like when we were kids", when, in FACT, mRNA vaccines do NOT work anything remotely similarly to vaccines we were given as kids. HINT #1 DOCTORS: If physicians want to be BELIEVED, then physicians must be educated enough to tell the truth. Doing otherwise undermines everyone's cred. If you're a clinician & you can't describe mRNA vs. traditional vaccines, you're not helping the overall situation. Yeah, this is the problem. These people have been changing language and using it subtly in masterful ways. The vast majority of the population hears the word "vaccine" and thinks of one thing. When in reality, it's much more complicated now. Even the health agencies actually changed the definition of the word like a couple of weeks ago. So did the dictionary. That should tell you something. Doctors and scientists who are used to reading, writing, and understanding scientific concepts in exacting language, and well defined terms, can be especially victimized in these ideological manipulations muddying the waters.

Not clear at all that the good doctor was talking about the mode of action of the vaccine. Seems he was trying to communicate that vaccines offer protection as they have the past. Still we get loads of comments throwing the doctor under the bus. How about a little compassion?

We need to do better than to place all humans in the same biochemical category. Since 175÷ billion parameter models trained on biomed are nowadays routine, wouldn't it make sense to stop relying on antiquated ONE (because you are human) parameter model(s)?
I agree to some of very insightful comments in the thread !! We are in an era, where truth should be intelligently picked from misinformation !! Ànd a quote rightly define such misleading educated crowd as : " Don't cofuse schooling with Education "
Many of the supposed experts out there are just spewing BS, or the party line, and most of those experts have those letters after their names. In fact those letters MAKE you an expert apparently, independent of your specialty - as long as you follow the prescribed script. Unfortunately, the letters still come with that invisible pedestal in many peoples eyes. Two letters makes you an expert on most everything. I have three letters and I KNOW I know very little, but more than many. Humility is not coincident with MD.
I am a physician and am a conservative Republican. I was on the Coronavirus Task Force and went to all of the meetings, which were numerous. Operation Warp Speed reported to me weekly. My information didn't come from a package insert or a drug rep. The three authorized or approved USA vaccines are extremely safe and extremely effective. I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would be hesitant to be vaccinated. Can there be side effects, yes! But your risk of serious harm is much higher riding in a car. Are there breakthrough infections, yes! But, your immunity scales up rapidly and protects you against serious disease. I had COVID-19 before the vaccine, but I was happy to take the vaccine to prime my immunity even further. Nonetheless, I feel vaccines should be voluntary except for certain situations.
