An active early-spring weather pattern ushers in a more robust storm system this weekend, bringing rain and snow to the area beginning Saturday afternoon and leading to slushy, blustery conditions.As one low-pressure system moves east across the Great Lakes, a second low will likely develop near Cape Cod and track into the Gulf of Maine. This will help draw colder air farther south. The snow/rain/mix will arrive in Maine late Saturday afternoon or evening. The majority of the snow is expected to fall during the night Saturday night, winding down gradually early Sunday. Periods of rain and milder air near the coast will limit the snow totals to perhaps a few slushy inches. Central and northern Maine could see roughly 3-6 inches.
