Please join the Mayor’s Annual APA Heritage Celebration Ceremony (apasf.org) and the Chinese Cultural Center of San Francisco (www.cccsf.us) in celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. We are seeking volunteers to register here for ONE OR BOTH of the cultural processions.

The Annual APA Heritage Celebration Ceremony includes a procession on Wed, May 2. Please arrive by 4pm, (or as soon as you can rushing from school or work) dressed and ready to rehearse.  The location is Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Avenue.  The Ceremony will begin at 5:30pm, and will be immediately followed by a Tasting Reception in nearby City Hall. For this procession, REGISTER BY APRIL 18 to have your name included in the program book. The list of participants will be confirmed by April 23. Choreographer is Miki Katsuyama Novitski. Participants do not need to be Asian; however, colorful Asian cultural attire is required. No dance experience required -- just a positive attitude and big smiles.  Participants for this procession must attend a rehearsal on Sunday, April 29, 3-5pm. Location is Origin, 1538 Fillmore St. (@ Geary) For questions regarding the WEDNESDAY, MAY 2nd procession, please contact Rose Chung at roseychung@gmail.com.

For the Chinese Culture Center Asian Heritage Street Celebration procession on Sun, May 6, 2018, participants will need to check-in beginning at 10am at Ellis and Larkin St. The procession will start at 11am and travel along Larkin St. between Ellis and Fulton. This procession welcomes Asian and Pacific Islander community members in BOTH ETHNIC and CONTEMPORARY attire REPRESENTING YOUR CULTURAL ORGANIZATION or PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION e.g. Asian Firefighters Association. The procession is the opening program at the Asian Heritage Street Celebration at Sunday Streets event, which will take place from 11am-4pm, and will feature a stage for performances and many other activities on the several streets closed to traffic for the day. Participants for this procession do not need to attend a separate rehearsal prior to the event , except to arrive by 10:00a for instruction immediately prior to the procession.
