Filipinos are born artists. We love to draw, paint, and express ourselves thru art. anello, a Japanese bag brand, in partnership with GlobalKnowledge (GK) Artists, headed by Dean Aladin Antiqueño, is launching the PAINT-YOUR-ANELLO BAG Contest that will be held on the Saturday of June 25, July 2 & 9, 2022 at the @TOKYO Uptown BGC, Taguig.
Theme: Local Flora, Fauna (Plants & Animals), and Colorful Festivals
Type: Realism & Representational Only
(No Abstract or Non-Representational)
Materials: anello Bag, Acrylic / Oil Paint
Duration: On-the-Spot; 8am-8pm

MECHANICS:
1.
Register thru GK. Txt ANELLO, NAME, EMAIL, MOBILE, and send to 0916-2921470.
2.
You will receive the official registration form via email or PM. Fill in the form together with your preferred choice of anello Bag (selection will be provided in the form).
3.
Send back the form to
noel@gkphilippines.com and wait for the confirmation within 24hrs.
4.
anello Bags are available at discounted rates. It may be claimed and paid on the day of the Contest.
a) 30% Discount on anello Bags. anello bag price range is around P3K - P4K before discount.
b) Option: You may also avail of the Paint-Now-Pay-Later Plan (details available upon request).
c) Choose your anello Bag – A list of anello bags in different colors will be provided to you upon your registration.

Bring your own acrylic/oil paint and brushes. Food (AM & PM snacks, Lunch will be provided during the On-the-Spot contest).
6.
Photos will be taken on your finished painting for the day and this will be your final entry for judging.

All bags will be stored at the GlobalKnowledge office – 677 Boni Mandaluyong City where you may schedule to do some retouching prior to its exhibit at @Tokyo Uptown Mall, BGC Taguig on July 29-31, 2022.

Winners will be announced on July 29, 2022. First day of the anello art exhibit to be held at @Tokyo Store, Uptown BGC.
9. Invitation will be sent to all exhibit participants.

You will provide the organizers with the price for your painted bags. 50% of the sales will go to the artist and 25% will go to GK Fine Arts Scholarship Fund and 25% to anello's charity of choice.
a) You may price your art bags between the P5,000 to P50,000 range during the exhibit at @Tokyo Uptown BGC.
b) If you are on a Paint-Now-Pay-Later plan, the purchase amount of the bag will be deducted first before the computation of 50% for the Artist; 25% for GK Scholarship; 25% anello's charity of choice.
c) The artist (who are not on a paint-now-pay later option) who wants to keep the artbag(s) for himself may also opt to only display and exhibit their artbag(s) without selling it. A label of "Artist's Collection" will be tagged to these bags indicating that these are not for sale.
d) The organizers will allow for collectors and clients to reserve their preferred painted bags for a minimum amount of 30% of the indicated artist’s price of the bag and no return of downpayment if reservation is forfeited. Reserved bags must be paid within one week from the time of the reservation, otherwise, the reservation will be forfeited in favor of the artist, GK Scholars, and anello (50-25-25) and the said art bag will be offered to the next client/collector.

Unsold art bags will still be displayed for an extended 1 month in Uptown Mall BGC branch or at GK School Gallery in Boni Mandaluyong and GK Art Gallery in Tagaytay.
a) Unsold art bags after 1 month of display extension will be returned to the artists if the cost of the bags is fully paid.
b) Bags on a Paint-Now-Pay-Later plan will be returned only upon full payment of the cost of the bags. Safekeeping will be done by GlobalKnowledge for a maximum of 3 months after which, it will become the property of the school.
12. The Grand Prize and 2nd Prize winners will receive purchase cash award of P50K and P25K respectively. This means that these winning pieces will become properties of anello. It will still be displayed and exhibited during the event. However, anello reserves the right to sell, keep, or donate it.

These activities will be video recorded for branding contents of anello and GlobalKnowledge. Joining this contest would give the organizers your consent for this purpose.

Note: All participants get a Certificate of Participation and Training Discount Vouchers at GK College of Fine Arts. The art bag pieces of the Grand Prize and 2nd Place winners will become properties of anello.
FAQS (Frequently Asked Questions)
Are walk-ins allowed to join during the event?
o
No. Pre-registration is required. Each Saturday event is organized and has an allotted number of artists to join.
Are we allowed to have our reference pictures during the On-the-Spot?
o
Yes, you may have your reference pictures during the event.
Can I copy my reference from the Internet?
o
Your reference picture/images must be original and should be without copyright infringement. You should have your own composition to avoid any copyright conflicts.
I have my old anello bag, can I use it to join the contest?
o
No. All anello bags for this contest must be new and available for display, exhibit, and for sale after the event. Thus, it is important that all bags are brand new, neat, and crisp.
Can I claim my anello bags days before the event?
o
No. You may only get your preferred bag an hour before the actual event.
What if I did not finish the painting on the day of the contest?
o
Your final entry in the contest is the last photo taken during the event. Judging will be based on this. However, for purposes of selling and exhibiting, you may finish your artwork prior to the exhibit between July 25-28, 2022.
What if I do not want to sell my bag but would only want to exhibit it for exposure?
o
It is allowed upon prior arrangement with the organizers.
Up to how much can I price my painted bag?
o
It depends. You may base it on your present ‘per-inch’ or per artwork rate. If you want it affordable, you may price it at break-even or at cost. If it is a winning piece, you may price it at x3 or x10 of the bag’s price. Preferably, bag prices should be within the range of P5k-P50K. The following will be the computation for the proceeds (after deducting the price of the bag for those in the Paint-Now-Pay-Later option):
50% - Artist
25% - GK for a Scholarship Fund
25% - anello has the option to give it to a charity of its choice, purchase another GK Scholarship Grant and/or absorb credit card surcharge (for credit card payments during the selling exhibit).
What if I have no funds to buy an anello Bag but I am confident that I have the skills and talent in painting?

Are mixed media allowed?
o
Only oil and/or acrylic are allowed for mixed media. Acrylic paints are highly recommended because of their fast-drying effect for better storage and safekeeping.
Are meals provided during the On-the-Spot
o
Yes, basic meals and snacks are provided during the event.
How many times can I join the contest?
o
Up to 2x. However, this is based on the availability of the slot. First come, first served.
What are the media mileage coverages?
o

Are other bags (not anello) allowed?
o
No. This is exclusively for anello bags.
What are the ages accepted in the contest?
o
16 years old and above are allowed to join the contest. Please note that all registrations must be forwarded to GlobalKnowledge for proper slot allocation.
