SOAR Board Application 2021-2022
Hello!

Thank you for your interest in the SOAR (Student Outreach and Academic Resource) Program for the 2021-2022 school year. SOAR is an academic auxiliary of AB Samahan whose purpose is to increase retention of students within AB Samahan at San Diego State University by supporting them through academic means. This year we are looking to fill the following positions: Co-Director, Administrative Assistant, and Peer Mentors.

Below are the descriptions of duties for each position.

Co-Director (1 seat)
Shall preside in the absence of the Director
Shall be responsible for training SOAR leadership to assist the members of AB Samahan
Shall oversee the SOAR High School Conference workshop*

Administrative Assistant (1 seat)
Shall handle all administrative duties pertaining to the program
Shall take minutes at SOAR Board meetings
Shall be in charge of all financial affairs for the program

Peer Mentors (3-5 seats)
Shall give bi-weekly academic support reports
Shall assist other program administration with their duties
Shall mentor the members of Andres Bonifacio Samahan in their academic endeavors


In addition to the specific duties for each position, every member shall collectively hold weekly study hours and shall volunteer at the annual High School Conference.

Upon completion of this application, an interview will be scheduled.
