MP Afzal Khan joins us, supporting with special Eid parcels

We are delighted to share with you that Manchester MP for Gorton and shadow deputy leader of the House of Commons Afzal Khan joined our weekly zoom meeting this week. Afzal was very impressed at the work that the group has been doing so far and also volunteered in packing and delivering food parcels! This week our parcels have contained Eid cards to celebrate the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Our volunteers have been busy making these Eid cards along with some flower arrangements, activity packs and baking sweet treats. These items have been included in addition to the regular food parcels to distribute to local families in the community.

Take a look at what Afzal said about our group here: https://twitter.com/Afzal4Gorton/status/1263547736697319424

Here are some photos of some yummy baked goods and some lovely cards and decor our volunteers have kindly made and donated:

We are currently looking for local volunteers to help with deliveries of hot meals and food parcels. If you would like to get involved or know someone who would, please get in touch.
