Cocos Island 2013, $3 Stamp Booklets – 100 exist globally - now sold out it seems here.
Image

Christmas Island 1996 Stamp Booklet.

I bought a small quantity of these last year from Dr. William Mayo.

Only 100 were made of the Cocos, and as his letter indicated, most were cancelled First Day, June 4, 2013. (Cocos now sold out)

I bought all his mint Cocos booklets I gather, as that is how most booklet collectors prefer them – mint, and not cancelled. Bill formed the very finest world stamp booklet collection of our generation, and he liked Booklets cancelled where possible!

Not a silly idea – he had most copies of the Christmas Island 1996 SG SB1a – all cancelled, which is in SG already for £650 = $A1,300. Only 2 of those mint are recorded.

I have never seen these new Cocos offered before ANYWHERE, and I have not offered them before, indeed they have been sitting buried on my desk for the past 18 months, waiting for a “spare” 15 minutes to scan, and list them up.

The first Christmas Island booklets were in 1996, SG #SB1 Cat £160 ($A320), and I still have a few of those CTO 1996 on front cover in stock, with Fish stamps for $A200 each (Stock 682ER) for anyone missing those. (Sel Pfeffer Booklet Cat BK 1, $400 for the Fish Stamps, and BK 1a with Shell stamps - $A900)

This Cocos Booklet is now listed and priced globally in Stanley Gibbons, and soon to be in the Seven Seas “ASC” I believe, and I understand I was the only dealer to obtain mint stock of this tiny print.

Bill Mayo told me he’d sent 1 book of these across to Stanley Gibbons London to auction, and said it got £160 or something ($A320) but sadly their on-line past catalogues are not archived. Not sure if Buyer Fee and VAT was on top of that figure?

1 x Mint Christmas Island 1996 Booklet, SG SB#1 with 1996 cds on front cover as shown - $A200 (Stock 682ER)
If you collect Cocos Islands or Christmas Islands you NEED these books. Only their 3rd stamp booklet issued in more than 50 years, so at least they do not over-do things there!

Be quick, these will not last long, and when they are gone - the fun begins!

$A200 plus $A3 global post

Call it - "Xmas Is Booklet : Stock 682ER - please order via new HTTPS encrypted SECURE site - https://tinyurl.com/GlenOrder

And please do that NOW. Too many think “I’ll do that later” and then quickly “forget”. I then lose the stamps in the rubble here, and waste an annoying hour finding them again.

All payment details etc are on: https://www.tinyurl.com/GlenPay - NICE franking is used when I mail : see member pix of that franking here - https://tinyurl.com/GlenCTO - and COMBINED POSTAGE is fine - save big money buying more than 1 lot at once!

For overseas members, to find out the approx cost in YOUR currency, click here - https://www.xe.com - the $A has CRASHED lately, and for USA buyers etc, these prices are REALLY cheap in your money!

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE - don't like it - mail it back within 48 hours of receiving it. No-one ever has yet. :)

Remember, adding another lot of mine (posted by either Admin, GlenStephens or Global Administrator or ozstamps) here (or on my website https://www.glenstephens.com/rarity.html ) for sale in general adds ZERO to your shipping cost, so have a good look at what is on offer here, in case something else appeals:

And "lay-by/layaway" is always possible - email me with any queries to glen [at] glenstephens.com - OR "trade-ins" always possible! If you have a pile of surplus stuff, I may well be happy to offset that against this item, see: https://tinyurl.com/GlenBuy

As most know - I do NO fairs or shows, have NO shop, and do NOT bother with ebay or any other auctions. I buy endless bulk lots from Estates, and distress sales etc, in this massive city of 6 million, with no other real stamp buyers, and offer it here at NETT prices for fast turnover. NO "20%-25% Buyer Fees" and “3% credit card fees” to add to my NETT prices, as in auction!

Many similar mouth-watering NETT price offers are being loaded weekly onto - https://tinyurl.com/GlenRare and https://tinyurl.com/GlenSpec

All stampboards lots $A100 and under are generally mailed Unregistered and untracked at YOUR total risk, unless YOU specifically note otherwise on order form. 1000s of my transactions here for 10 years have been safe by normal post.

Orders over $100 are normally sent Registered (PO cover is to $A100 only sadly) - cost is extra $A4 local, and about $A14 ($US10) extra foreign, depending on weight. Only YOU know if your street or Apartment address is secure - a large packet covered in pretty stamps left outside, just might tempt passers-by? Only YOU know that, I do not. Mail contractors these days are often lazy and leave packets on top of mailboxes etc in view of public, and/or out in wet weather etc. PO Boxes are FAR safer.

"All Risk" Insurance is always possible if required as well, and is cheap at $A2 per $100 covered - and all are strongly advised to use this, and I will, unless asked not to. Full detail on all of this - https://tinyurl.com/Glen2-15 It is like Travel Insurance - decline that when booking your ticket, and THEN tell Qantas you really meant to take it 3 weeks back, and you now need to cancel your ticket for no penalty, and see how you go with THAT one!

As per stampboard convention - this lot is offered exclusively first to board members - and on no other sales venue.

For members who make a BANK TRANSFER or Money Order etc, you WILL generally get your goods faster, as it saves me some hassle - but you MUST email me the confirmation number etc - many "forget"! :)

Yes, still have a few of each MINT Booklets as per above.

NONE above have been mailed yet, so chime in if you want me to add anything else!

Of the Cocos, I only have a single booklet with the FDI cancel on front cover, if anyone wants that, for $A110 - Stock 682EK. FIRST to type 'SOLD' get that baby.

Of the Christmas Island, Red 1996 I have ONE with a last day cancel '28 OC 96' on front cover. That is $A150 and is stock 682EL. FIRST to order "SOLD" here gets that one. (Photo below.)

That Last Day booklet, as do the other Mint Christmas Island ones all have marginal panes of 10 of the mid 1990s 45c Fish Stamps inside - SG 414. Postal rates and contact info is all on back cover.

I have one Mint Christmas Island booklet I bought off Dr. Mayo years ago, which has a pane 10 of the 45c Shell (SG 353) - SG SB1a, Cat £650 = $A1,300. That one is $A400 - stock 682EM. Postmaster advises that 10 only were made, 8 were CTO, and only 2 of those remained mint. This is one of those 2 mint!

I also have a few mint of the very FIRST Emergency Booklet noted in SG with marginal panes of 10 x 45c Fish stamps in each, or 10 x 45c orchids SG 39/396. These I have seen in the past fetch $500 apiece, (Stock 682EP/682EQ) but my price is $A115 for either type, or $A200 the pair. (Stock 682PR) These are of course the FIRST ever Booklet from Christmas Island, and the Postmaster of time letter confirms that.

Bill had a couple mint of those booklets Mint, which he sold, as he preferred used Booklets!

We did business together for 25 years - he was quite a character, and founded the World Stamp Booklet Pane Society decades ago etc. He formed major collections of early St Helena and Tristan Da Cunha material, strong in the early classic covers etc, and even owned a house in remote St Helena.

I just went upstairs to the Attic, and rummaged around for an hour in dusty 20 year old filing cabinets, and found the letters Bill gave me colour copies 20 years ago to write these up in my column in 'Stamp News' at the time. One from SG London Catalogue Editor, and one from the Christmas Island Postmaster, who issued these in 1996.

As I recall, like the "2016 ADELAIDE 30c" issues - the Brass is Melbourne whacked him around the head and ordered he do no more. The Adelaide set 6 is $2000 already, and some of these low number issues do VERY well going forward. The number sold of these are a TON less than the Adelaide sets in fact!

Folks, MOST of those above have not completed an order form, and as I make clear, we work off order forms only, and you'll simply miss out. Fair warning - if these settle at ~$200 each, you'll kick yourself. When my stock is gone there are NO others out there. 100 were made for the WORLD, and most of those were cancelled on FDI

The first SG listed Christmas Island booklets are SG #SB1 Cat £160 ($A320), and I still have a few of those mint in stock with panes 10 x 45c Fish stamps, for $A200 each (Stock 682EH) for anyone missing those. (Sel Pfeffer Booklet Cat BK 1 $400.)

Of the Christmas Island, Red $4.50 1996 I have ONE with a last day cancel '28 OC 96' on front cover. That is $A200 and is stock 682EL. FIRST to order "SOLD" here gets that one. (Photo above.)

I also have a few mint of the very FIRST Emergency Booklet noted in SG with marginal panes of 10 x 45c Fish stamps in each, or 10 x 45c orchids SG 39/396. OK,

Someone asked me today if i still have any 2003 COCOS Island Booklets about. I think I do SOMEWHERE here, but can't find them in this rubble here, so for the moment they are sold out.

Fill out an order form if you are keen, and if they DO surface you are first cab off the rank - stock 682EF - but I might reserve the right hike the price a bit, as they really seemed too cheap on original offer.

Only a few left now and when they are gone no-one else on the planet seems to have stock!

Just $A200 a booklet - only a couple left now, and then, like the Cocos green ones, totally sold out. Good luck finding ANY other stock, ANYWHERE else on the planet.
