Wholeness Ministry

The wholeness ministry seeks to create time and space for people to be ministered to, in their inner being, that is to receive healing in the area of the soul and spirit. We are often aware of problems in our physical bodies, we seek treatment from medical services or as Christians we also pray and request prayer for physical healing. However, issues of the soul and spirit can go overlooked.

God’s desire for us is that we might live in the abundance of life that he has for us. Jesus said I have come that ...... ‘they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].' (John 10:10) Amp. It also says in the bible that we should be kept blameless.... ‘Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ (1 Thess 5:23)

When we come to faith and become born again, there is a radical transformation that takes place within us, a newness of life, however this is the beginning of our transformation journey. We can still carry emotional wounds suffered from past negative experiences which remain hidden, notwithstanding, can limit us and prevent us from being who God has truly called us to be. For example, an experience of rejection at some point in our life can affect how we relate to others, where we keep others at a distance for fear of further rejection, also, we might reject ourselves to some extent, where we are not able to see our true worth and value. In addition, as we are living in a fallen world, we are still likely to experience suffering and wounding in the process of living out our Christian faith.

As a church we have in place discipleship programs such as the encounters for men and woman, the living free course, which both offer good opportunities to attend to inner issues. We would like to increase these opportunities and offer more in-depth ministration through the wholeness ministry.

The wholeness ministry will focus on offering:

 Specific bible teachings in relation to inner healing and wholeness

 Prayer ministrations.

 One on one support for an extended period of time (up to six months) in getting through an emotional challenging time.

 Reading material and a recommended reading list.

 Individual Consultation and sign posting for specific counselling as well as in house counselling as appropriate.

The ministry will also be structured around holding specific prayer, healing and deliverance days. We will have several of these events spaced out through the year, taking place on a Saturday. We will also be holding prayer ministration healing clinics that you can be referred to.
