Where to Plant Your Family Tree
in the Online Forest

with Sheri Fenley and Doug Joe

Sheri Fenley and Doug Joe share their insights on some of the online webtrees and other ways to share your family history.

Sheri explains why sharing your genealogical research online is a great way to connect with others who share your ancestry.  She willl explore four of the websites in the forest of online trees:
  •  Ancestry Member Trees at Ancestry.com
  • World Connect Family Trees and Websites at Rootsweb.com
  • Family Tree Explorer at FindMyPast.com
  • Family Tree Builder and Website at TribalPages.com
Doug talks about the pros and cons of using online webtrees and will give a demonstration of a free website called Webtrees.  He will show how to use it on a PC and a Mac.

This class is limited to 30 participants and is one of the free benefits for CGS members. Non-members fee is $20.00 (non-refundable) and can be applied towards a CGS membership the day of the class.

 Pre-registration is required.

Registration confirmations will be sent to the first 30 participants who register. Additional names will be collected and placed on a waiting list in case of cancellations.

Walk-ins will not be admitted.
