Help me give my students learning tools for an age appropriate balance in light of virtual learning. Kindergarteners will need significantly more handheld tools and materials as they are developing fine motor skills. Thank you!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At this time my district is unclear about the plan but in conversations with my school leadership, I will be supporting our virtual distance teaching programming. As you all know, I am a Kindergarten teacher to my core and while I know that Kindergarten age students best learn in person with their classmates, I recognize the importance for prioritizing safety and health for us all. My intention with this project is to deliver enriching materials for my students to tangibly learn, fine tune their motor skills, and to balance screen time and activities with physical tools. This will require a tremendous amount of preparation and organization in order to deliver to a full classroom and to ensure longevity of our materials. I know that 5 year olds are capable of amazing things and with your support I look forward to helping them exceed their potential.
My Project
Imagine never going to school before and being asked to listen to a stranger teaching you through a screen. This will be the experience of our incoming Kindergarten class of 2020 - 2021. My hope through this project is to provide all my students with tactile learning to enrich their learning and to balance the screen time of some of their earliest learning experiences.
As our district budget is decreasing by $28M, I am hoping to fundraise for resources that will help my students trace letters, mold clay for letter and name practice, use white boards and markers for directed drawing and guided spelling; magnetic letters for them to move over to their whiteboards, sight word cards that I'll sort for weekly practice so that parents are easily able to find their student materials; portfolios for them to capture their finest work and be able to present as authors, scientists, mathematicians when we finally reunite in the classroom; a musical instrument for pattern and rhythm practice; math tool box and shapes for them to practice counting and one-to-one correspondence; and for us to practice guided work time at a distance allowing for the opportunity that students conference; key-ring note cards to help any adult at home regardless of language help students to practice; organizational bins to promote self-management and to allow students to own their work as leaders.
In this early learning time, I hope to provide my students with all that they need to love learning and school before they ever step foot in a brick and mortar building.
Thank you for your consideration and unconditional support of my teaching endeavors.
