Thanks to three Augusta University faculty members, more than 300 AU students now have access to a unique resource aimed at improving their online experience in a virtual biology lab course. 

 

Drs. Soma Mukhopadhyay, Colleen Davis, and Christina Wilson partnered with textbook publisher Hayden-McNeil to develop a 125-page lab manual for students taking BIOL 1101 lab virtually.

 

The first of its kind at AU, the Fundamentals of Biology Lab Manual has 11 lab components, each featuring content such as pre-lab activities, experiments, graphics, data, post-lab assignments, and practice questions.

 

The result of three months of intense work, the manual is currently being used by seven faculty members teaching a total of 12 sections of BIOL 1101 lab.

 

Led by Dr. Mukhopadhyay, the trio also negotiated with the publisher to keep the lab manual affordable to students. The manual is available for $35 at the Jagstore.
