WHAT WE DO
Our program focuses on engaging families for student success at K-8 schools in North Lawndale. Engaged parents are vital to student healthy development and academic success. Community Nights are an opportunity for parents to gain valuable resources and tools to better support their students. In a separate workshop, students will engage with literature in fun and meaningful ways. One way TTP funds our programming is through our Carpe Librum bookstores. We collect used books and re-sell them at our pop-up stores around the city.
TTP offers two different types of volunteer opportunities:
COMMUNITY NIGHTS
- Welcoming families
- Serving dinner to families
- Reading books to children
- Co-leading literature-related activities and games with children
