Dear Friend,

My name is John Paul Catanzaro, B.Sc., C.E.P., C.K., president of The Catanzaro Group and author of The Elite Trainer.

Within the next few minutes, you’ll learn the valuable secrets of how to deliver jaw-dropping results with your clients, earn top dollar at your club and become a household name in your area.

If you’re thinking this sounds too good to be true… give me 3 minutes of your time and I’ll prove to you just how powerful these secrets really are.

But…

Before I share this incredible information with you, I need to ask you a few questions:

  • Are you struggling to retain clients each and every month?
  • Do you dread the holidays and summer months because the few clients you have are traveling… and money is tight?
  • Are you tired of working at a health club that charges a premium for your services, then pays you next to nothing?
  • Are you sick of trying to sell your services to potential clients only to have them turn around and sign with another trainer because he or she knew the right things to say?
  • Do you hate discounting your rates to unappreciative customers who’d rather talk throughout the whole session than listen to your instruction… then when they don’t lose any weight, they turn around and blame you for not getting them results?
  • Are you fed up watching the highest profile clients go to other trainers who talk a good game or look a certain way… but really aren’t any special?
  • Are you on the verge of quitting personal training because you just don’t make enough money to sustain yourself or your family… and you can’t see a future where you’ll make enough money to do so?

If you answered yes to even one of these questions, I have some very important news for you. First off, you are not alone. These questions stem from corresponding with hundreds of trainers just like you who I’ve helped become top earners in their respective clubs.

Over the past few years, I noticed that many of my colleagues who ran their own studios would repeatedly call me complaining about the same things…

They would whine saying that it’s impossible to find good trainers. All of them had sifted through hundreds of resumes and sat through dozens of interviews only to conclude that 9 times out of 10 the applicants didn’t cut it.

The trainers applying for the jobs either had worthless certifications that they received over weekend personal training courses…

Or

They had university degrees but no idea what they were doing with their clients!

The one complaint that came up time and time again was that these trainers didn’t know how to write a program to save their lives.

WAIT… come again?

Having worked in the industry for the past 20 years I know how important good…

No…

Great, program design is to your success as a personal trainer. Things really hit home when I was asked to speak to a group of trainers at an industry conference.

During my presentation, I couldn’t help but notice that each time I mentioned a basic principle of program design, dozens of hands would shoot up asking me to clarify what I was talking about.

Most of these trainers had no clue! They’d all gone to school or had certifications, but for some reason they knew very little about how to design an effective program for their clients.

The certification programs had failed these trainers.

If anything, it seemed like they’d been rushed through the process to make room for newer bodies (that could sign more checks!) So here were these trainers, ill-equipped and lacking the proper foundation to design a basic workout plan.

One thing was obvious, it was only matter of time before most of these trainers would be out of a job

. I looked over the room and couldn’t help but think…

If I had any doubts, the questions posed during my presentation confirmed my suspicion.

They asked:

Q: How do you know how many sets or reps to use in a client’s workout routine?

The certification courses had not taught them that there was an inverse relationship between sets and reps.

They had no idea that a client’s training age, gender and muscle fiber type along with the type of exercise chosen all played a huge part in the number of sets and reps prescribed.

I told them, “You can’t have a novice client do a high-intensity program with heavy loads and plenty of volume. It will
kill them!”

Each individual factor has to be taken into account when writing a program.

The number of repetitions you give your client for any movement will influence the training effect – this is why it’s the most important variable to consider when designing a strength training program.

Low repetitions at a higher intensity have a dominant neural effect, and high repetitions at a lower intensity have a greater metabolic effect.

Remember…

Neural training enhances strength, speed and power, while metabolic training increases muscle mass, decreases body fat and improves endurance.

Beginners should do higher repetitions to facilitate the learning process (i.e., perform, refine and ingrain proper movement patterns) and allow tendons and ligaments to adapt.

As your client’s training age and strength increases, start lowering the number of reps per set.

The exercise or movement pattern also plays a big part in the number of repetitions you perform…

Complex movements like the snatch or clean and jerk are best done for low reps, whereas simple movements like a calf raise or wrist curl can be done for higher repetitions – as long as they aren’t too high – gains in strength drop when you go past 20 RM loads.

When it comes to sets, multiple sets are generally better than single sets for optimal muscle strength and size.

Mind you, it’s still quality over quantity. You need to know when to call it a day with an exercise no matter how many sets are prescribed.

Q: How long should my clients rest between sets?

Are you serious, I thought?

The course guides had never mentioned that rest intervals were dependent on a client’s training goals?

To determine the rest interval between sets, you need to distinguish whether sufficient or insufficient recovery is warranted.

Sufficient neural and metabolic recovery will get the best performance, but if your client rests too long between sets, all of that neural activation will drop off to a point where facilitation is lost for the next set.

On the other hand, insufficient recovery will increase their tolerance to lactic acid and help them train the body to use more for fuel. Highly trained athletes, for instance, can tolerate as much as 30% higher lactate levels than the rest of us.

Most beginners have a lower lactate threshold and need longer rest periods at first, but with consistent training, they can build up a tolerance to shorter rest intervals.

That was met with empty stares.

Q: How do I know which exercises to choose when working with a client?

I shook my head in disbelief and said

, “There are a number of ways to perform almost any exercise, and you should do as many different variations as possible with your clients to maximize size and strength gains.”

Exercise variety is important – doing the same exercises every routine will not only get boring but lead to stagnation.

You should be able to get through an entire year without ever repeating the same exercise done in the same manner!

Plus…

Every exercise has multiple variations, such as grip orientation, grip width, grip diameter, stance width, and so on. Even slight exercise variations can significantly alter recruitment, so there is no excuse.

One of the keys to becoming a great trainer is to have a huge arsenal of exercises to choose from and to be able to switch or revise an exercise on the fly – without hesitation.

That’s when a client knows they are dealing with a professional, not someone who says, “Well, let’s try to tough it out,” because they have no other options!

Minutes later as I wrapped up the presentation, all I could think was that if trainers did not know the answers to these basic questions, the certification programs really weren’t cutting it.

None of these trainers were receiving the proper guidance to work and succeed in our competitive field.

So many ideas ran through my head… I thought what could I create that would teach these guys everything they needed to know about program design without forcing them to commit years to the subject?

“A book, maybe?”

If it contained all of the right information, it just might work but if I went through with this, I would be known forever as the guy who EXPOSED the personal training courses and certification companies.

If I didn’t do anything about it…

Trainers would continue to get ripped off – paying for expensive certifications that left them unprepared for the harsh realities of making a living in the industry.

I decided to do something about it and started working on the book.

I knew it would have to explain program design from the ground up, but also have enough valuable information that a seasoned trainer could pick it up and be blown away. One thing was clear: If a new trainer was to have a chance at making it in the industry, they would need a complete resource to turn to that could transform them from an average trainer into a superstar!

I went to work digging into my archives – I sifted through every article, research paper and program guide I could find. If this book was going to shed the light on how to truly train, it would have to have it all. I even went as far as to have obscure material from Europe translated for the book.

I tiredly went to work for months on end, sorting through all of the information – making sure to root out every last gem that separated the great from the good.

After 2 years of exhausting research I finished the first draft.

Unsure as to how it would be received I shared It with a few personal friends… their reviews were fairly positive, in fact all of them said the same thing…

Despite their kind words, I still wasn’t sure. The book was good, but something was missing…

One day when flipping through the pages of a magazine, I found my missing piece.

The book needed visuals… drawings to demonstrate the hundreds of exercises that had been outlined, I hooked up with an illustrator the next day, and after many weeks of going back and forth, the final version was done.

I mailed a few copies to my colleagues – other trainers and strength coaches – and waited for the response. Within a matter of days, the phone calls and emails came flooding in –

half telling me the book was exactly what the industry needed and demanding I publish it, and the other half advising me to never release it because it would expose where some of the high-profile trainers got their information…

Now let me preface the next part by telling you this:

One of my mottos is that it’s best to keep things small!

I still had my reservations about blowing the lid off the industry and I certainly didn’t want to be known as the guy who did. I also wasn’t sure whether the top dogs in the industry would appreciate me giving away all of their best held secrets.

The book covered everything from physiology down to the nitty-gritty details of getting clients to melt fat or pack on muscle…

Was it too much?

I called it The Elite Trainer and it’s 201 pages of the best strength training programming ever assembled.

Within its pages you will learn:

  • The one thing you must avoid when designing an exercise routine for your brand new clients that will cause them to doubt your training abilities.
  • The secret to choosing the exact amount of sets and reps for every single client who walks though the door.
  • The fundamentals of great program design used by highly sought after strength coaches to get their million dollar athletes in shape for the season… that you can use to create your own loyal following of well paying clients.
  • Structural Balance – A little known technique used by the best trainers in the field to assess a client’s injury potential… which you can use to write programs that get long-term results while avoiding common client injuries that cause them to stop training.
  • A simple tip to figure out your client’s muscle fiber type to create the ultimate program for their composition, so they get results they’ll rave about to their friends and family members.
  • The best way to plan a program over the course of weeks, so your client does not burn out and start canceling sessions.
  • The killer training routine you can use to literally melt fat off every new client… this routine is so powerful that one of my clients lost over 50 lbs in less than 5 months on it. He can’t stop thanking me to this day.
  • A special trick when writing fat loss programs to shed pounds off your clients week after week… when you get this you’ll be able to charge any rate you want.
  • A little known strength-training program that packs on mounds of muscle within weeks, but should not be attempted unless you have a devoted client. Any client you put on this program will average 9-12 pounds of new muscle growth within a month and refer you like crazy.
  • How to create muscle building programs so powerful that other trainers will accuse you of putting your clients on performance-enhancing drugs.
  • The rookie mistake most trainers make with their female clients (no, not that one)… that keep them from ever seeing results.
  • All this and much more… click HERE if you don’t believe me!

  • If you are the type of trainer who is content with being mediocre and just living from paycheck to paycheck, The Elite Trainer is not for you.
  • If you are the kind of trainer who likes waking up in the wee hours of the morning to train 1- 2 clients only to waste the rest of your day twiddling your thumbs… because you don’t want to be booked, The Elite Trainer is not for you.
  • If you are the type of trainer who is just training for kicks and doesn’t want to make a living training people or you just don’t see a future in this, The Elite Trainer is not for you.
  • If you are the type of trainer with a scarcity mentality who doesn’t see the value in education and making more money, The Elite Trainer is not for you.

But…

If you are the type of trainer who wants to take things to the next level, build a cult-like following of clients who will pay your fee no matter how high,

or the type of trainer who wants to become a renowned expert in your area…

The Elite Trainer is for you.

The Elite Trainer is 201 pages of premium program design information.

It features over 55 unique exercise programs that you can use with your clients right away to get them into their best shape.

It also has over a hundred professionally designed exercise illustrations of movements that I use to turn my clients into walking billboards.

In this book, you will get dozens of training methods and cutting-edge techniques to separate you from the rest of the cookie-cutter trainers in your area.

Take a look at the Table of Contents and Index to see exactly what The Elite Trainer has to offer.

Now ask yourself this…

Simply put…

How much would you pay if you could guarantee an explosion in your business?

To get all of the valuable info contained in The Elite Trainer you would have to register for multiple one-on-one mentorship courses with the best strength coaches and trainers in the industry.

Do you have the time for that, and are you willing to fork over the thousands of dollars it would cost?

Sure, there are less expensive alternatives… you could always cut your costs and attend a few weekend personal training seminars – they’ll only cost you $300-$500 a piece.
(By the way, that’s not including the hotel cost and travel expenses.)

Or

You could buy the hundreds of books, research papers and texts used to compile The Elite Trainer – mind you most of them are out of print or very hard to find.

Either way, if you did manage to find all of them, they would cost you hundreds of dollars to purchase and a few months to scour through.

Or

You could go the route of getting all of your training info from YouTube videos, but chances are most of those are whipped together by struggling trainers who can’t afford to pay their own bills!

For a limited time only I am offering The Elite Trainer for $39.95 (regularly $49.95).

Why’s it so low?

It’s simple, I wrote this book to help trainers just like you get better at their craft. I also wanted to make the price accessible and still cover my costs.

It’s become clear to me that no matter how great a deal that is, there are still people out there who will pass up an opportunity.

It’s crazy but there are trainers out there that won’t spend a dime to learn all they need know to become more valuable.

Maybe they don’t want to be the most sought-out, highly-paid trainer at their club?

They’d rather blow their money on a tub of protein than reinvest in themselves to take their business to the next level!

Oh well, I guess that just makes it easier for you to become the trainer with a packed client load and a full bank account.

But… why am I even telling you this?

Chances are, if you’re still reading this, you’re not one of those lazy trainers.

Chances are, if you’re still reading this, you’re the type of trainer who already recognizes the importance of reinvesting in yourself to stand out from your peers.

When you get The Elite Trainer, you’ll have access to the program guides and “cheat sheets” of over 100 of the best strength coaches and personal trainers in the industry.
