Had potential but to me it was just a big mess.
I plan on talking about the book 📖 as a whole to explain how I feel soo there will be ⚠️ spoilers ⚠️
Personally,excluding the prologue ( it helped set up /explain Kaden,a bit) I really don’t/didn’t get/understand why the book was set up as it was.
The book starts with Kaden supposedly kinda ,sorta,lazily visually flirting ( raised eyebrows and smiles ,what have you ) with some horny/hungry blonde from across a room at a masquerade party.
Now ,he’s not really interested in her in the slightest,yet he feels the need to tell us how easily he could have her. How he probably should just go F her . But he won’t, because he secretly wants but doesn’t to want his intern.
Ok.
An intern we don’t get to see him meet ( unless I’m guessing it’s in one of the first two books ) ,mores the pity,but we do get the privilege of hearing him berate to his supposed ( yet fake) fiancée, on the phone after he leaves the party. Then to his sister when he flies off to Dubai. Then at dinner with her and always in his thoughts ,when he’s not showing us when he’s not showing us how stuffy and boring he is . I mean come on ,what kinda man ONLY wears suits or workout clothes ? Kade’s issues run bone deep and he needed therapy more than anything . If that need could have taken the lead in a different way,if the sham engagement was gotten rid of sooner. If our heroine had had a real back bone and had pushed back and questioned things early on,instead of being the panty dampened,horny hormone fueled idiot she was,I think this could have been really great.
But instead we get this overly up tight guy who honestly makes Sheldon from Big Bang Theory look fun at times ( Sheldon at least has whimsy on his side ) who goes from wanting maybe go F a stranger,to spending the next two chapters putting down the woman he really wants. Then he goes home and finds her apt. ruined and flooded. Takes her out to dinner , manipulates her into staying the night in an expensive hotel penthouse . Kisses her,but runs off feeling guilty ,coz engaged to a lesbian. Ok.
Then next day sends said intern and would be lover a whole new wardrobe plus shoes ,grossly out of line but heroine barely questions at all. Then maneuvers her into a penthouse apt. and spends the afternoon at an Apple store personally picking out a new laptop for her. Huh? What ?
Goes to her place to deliver it, invites himself to dinner and gets over his guilt and starts a sexual relationship with her. What ?
Let me get this straight. We don’t get to see them meet. We don’t get to see their relationship develop,when they’ve supposedly been around each for months and months . Then after two chapters of him bad mouthing her internally and externally,he’s suddenly like some sugar daddy showering her with gifts and can’t stop wanting to F her silly ?
What the heck ? I don’t understand how those 4/5 star ppl connected with that but I sure as hell couldn’t.
That is basically how it goes to the big reveal FINALLY happens. You know, the one where the willingly clueless sex crazed heroine finally finds out what we’ve known all along ? Only it’s cut short of any real drama because the fake fiancée is kind hearted and goes admits all to her and she ONLY leaves him because he tells her he’d rather have a loveless marriage to his friend who prefers women than love. Ooooooo k.
Of course he gets a clue , gets therapy and gets her back. Done differently I think this could have been awesome. But for me if felt ,shallow and stilted and just plain awkward and confusing. The huge turn around felt fake . How can we connect with a relationship we never got to see grow or mature. It’s was mindless sex more than anything else. And to me the cruelest edge of all though was just as the poor B supposedly gets past some of his life long bone deep fears his sister is kidnapped for the next book. Seriously? I can’t say I liked or connected with either character but that just seemed mean.
Ps. You say in your notes 📝 the arc group got ticked Kaden “cheats” with Arianna. How the heck can he “cheat” on a fake lesbian fiancée? Especially when he’s encouraging her to sleep with other women? Huh ?
I might not have enjoyed this book ,but I wish you all the best! We should all follow our hearts and I hope things only get better for you.

This is the second book in the series and it is an enemies to lovers/ office romance. I was so excited to read Kaden’s story after reading about him in book one because he had this mystery about him that had me eager.
Kaden holds all the burden of events that happened as a child and feels like he has to always be the one making decision for the sake of his family even if costs him pure happiness. What happens when prince and his intern keep pushing each other’s buttons? An explosion of mega proportions of off the chart sexual chemistry which kept me wanting more.
Until all inhibitions are let go but Kaden keeps a secret from Arinna that could tare them apart. The more time these two spend together the more at ease they feel like they were meant for each other and you felt it the further I read.
I couldn’t put this book down because the story lines kept me going. I laughed, I swooned, fanned myself with some amazing scenes and cried (I was a mess with just one line - A perfect memory, I broke down). By the end I was left content, smiling just how after so much, love concurs all. The raw feelings shared for one another was effortless and sweet and he wasn’t a prince when he was with her he was treated like himself.
I really love an alpha that doesn’t realize what his missing until he has the taste of what could be and fights for the love of his life.
The ending sort of ends on a little cliff hanger for the third book of the series which I cannot wait to read.

Lizabeth Scott always manages to bring each personality of the SuMartra family to life. This is Kaden’s story. As the crown prince he has already mapped out his future with his chosen fiancé. He is determined to stay on course and not deviate from his plans. That is until his new intern, Arianna shows up to upset his perfectly ordered life. A disaster at Arianna’s apartment had Kaden coming to the rescue and Arianna seeing him as not quite so stuffy and formal. The chemistry ignited between them and they went from, enemies who kept snipping at each other to lovers. But was it enough to make Kaden deviate from his staid plans? I loved this book and as with her books there were some twists and turns you don’t expect so you can’t put the book down.

Royal Surrender is love seen through the eyes of a wounded soul. In Kaden lies a well of heartache that drives him to be the best ruler he can be, but closes him off from truly listening to his feelings. Duty before heart is his motto until his battered heart suddenly steers him off course. Arinne is the risk he never saw coming, but will be listen to his head or finally concede defeat to his heart? Beautiful tragedy delivers an epic romance.

Crown Prince Kaden of Tanistan is definitely attracted to his new temp Arinna. He treats her badly because he doesn't want to act on it. She thinks he hates her and she can't understand what she's doing wrong. He is afraid something bad will happen to her if he gets close to her. Eventually they come together and sparks fly, but will it last? This is the second book in the next generation of the SuMarta royal family. I highly recommend you give it a try.I couldn't put it down.

September 6, 2020Liz has again captured the responsibility that Royalty must endure for the love of their country. Prince Kaden puts his friend's reputation before his own personal desires. He puts his love for his country above his personal desires. Liz brought out the similarities between Queen Mari and Arinna to show that the Prince and Arinna should be together. Having read the stories about the SuMartra family, I was able to recall the incidences that were referred to. There were references explaining the previous incidences, but having read the entire stories made them more real.

I couldn't put this one down I'm all for the possessive over-barring Alphas and Kaden was that and so much more the chemistry between him and Adriana was apparent from the first paragraph and continued to build the more these two fought against the current I did want a bit more at the end the epilogue has a soft cliffhanger that I didn't necessarily care for but I have every intention of reading the next book so it was no big deal I wouldve rather had a well rounded ending and conclusion but all in all fantastic romantic story that will most deffinetly be read over and over again

This was a very good story even though I was able to figure out what each chapter was about before I read it. Opposites do attract mainly because they do not understand how the other comprehend. These two actually were a lot alike by being perfectionist. These two personalities will be attracted to each other. Kaden trying to deal with his past as a child and him feeling he need to marry a woman he didn't love took its toll on him. He fell in love with Arinna even against what he told her that there could be no future between them. Realizing he broke her heart and her leaving before her internship was complete, he accepted the help he needed to get his mental state under control.

Kaden, a Crown Price, knows his responsibilities to his family and country will need to come before any self happiness he may want. While trying to protect everyone he loves, he fails to allow his happiness to come first. Lizabeth is a GREAT storyteller, and if I could give this more stars I would. As always, she has a huge hit in Royal Surrender. A great follow up to Silent Surrender, this is a series you do not want to pass up!

Kaden thinks that he has to carry the world on his shoulders. Could the past be causing those feelings or is he an old soul? When Ariana comes into his life the chemistry is off the charts but the control Kaden expects may be another issue. Fighting the chemistry and trying to work together makes life challenging. Can two hard headed people come together and make it work while living in a fishbowl?

She writes such relatable characters and I was with Arinna all the way through this book.

From the start, Kaden drew me in. His need to care for everyone but himself resonated, and Arinna giving him a challenge made me want to read it all at one time. Liz makes you fall in love with her characters, and leaves you wanting more.
