Lawnside Historical Society
The Lawnside Historical Society's mission is to preserve and protect the heritage of Lawnside, N.J., the state's only African-American incorporated municipality, by maintaining the Peter Mott House as a museum and station along the Underground Railroad, the secret network to freedom for fugitives in the 19th century. The Society conducts tours of the Peter Mott House and provides speakers for groups and organizations. The Historical Society of Haddonfield seeks to increase awareness of and access to history relating to Haddonfield and environs by collecting and conserving opportunities to study, interpret and promote that history to the widest audience. The Haddon Heights Historical Society collects deeds and other documents, creates exhibits and promotes the history of the historic borough while working to build a reference file of accessible materials in other nearby locations.
