BRING A SOWCODERS CLUB TO YOUR SCHOOL/COMMUNITY!Position Title : Ambassador - Society of Women Coders
SOWCoders Ambassadors are young girls appointed from different regions all over the world who will become pioneers of leading the Digital skills/Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship movement in their community/school.(No Technical skills are required). Appointed Ambassadors will get to directly work virtually under the guidance of the leadership at SOWCoders in the USA and might get selected to be part of the leadership team for Coding Without Borders Camp for girls around the world. So far, Coding Without Border reached a total of 2000 girls from 57 countries around the world! (check @sowcoders on IG to learn more)
Eligibility :
-14 years or older, no technical skills required, basic proficiency in English (but you are encouraged to lead your club in your local language)
- Leadership, Empathy and Organizational skills
- Passionate towards the mission of SOWCoders
Time Commitment : 3 hours/Week
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Start a SOWC Club in your school/community (Pick a name and build a logo to reflect SOW values)
- Build a action plan and road map
- Recruit leadership and interested members for the club through outreach and email
- Build Social Media Presence (create a Facebook page, Instagram page, linkedin page etc.)
- Host monthly sessions - For example : classes,tech trivia night, tech speaker sessions, coffee meet and greet etc.
- Share and Promote Society of Women Coders social media posts with your club social media and your network
- Have fun with your friends and learn!
Evaluation and Letter of Recommendation :
Your chapter will be evaluated. Based on your chapter’s performance, you can receive a letter of Excellence from our board which will be a testament to your leadership.
Keeping the performance of your chapter in mind, You will be eligible to ask for a Letter of Recommendation from the Leadership at SOW as you will be directly working with the team.
Different Additional Options/Paths for a SOWCoders Club -
Funding for a project - You are eligible to apply for funding for a bigger project on-ground, For eg - On-ground coding camp, Hackathon, workshop etc. Reach out to kkrishna@societyofwoemncoders.org
Training for Instruction and Content Delivery - SowC will provide all the material for the Ambassadors.
