Call for Artists: BEYOND THE PAGE: ART INSPIRED BY BOOKS (submissions close 4/10)
Sharpsburg Community Library is seeking submissions for its new exhibition, BEYOND THE PAGE: ART INSPIRED BY BOOKS.
The show runs Saturday, April 15 through Saturday, May 13.

Work should be inspired by books of any type--a favorite character, beloved childhood story, or a piece created from parts of books themselves.

Drop off your work on April 11th or 12th. 
Pick up your work on May 16 or 17. You will have 15 days to pick up your work.
There will be an opening reception on April 15 from Noon to 2pm.
Library address is 1212 Main Street. Drop-off/pick-up is available during library hours.

All pieces should be wired and ready to hang, or have a sawtooth-style hanger WITH a wire loop.
Maximum size is 36" x 36".
Maximum weight is 15 pounds.
Each artist should submit no more than 2 works for the showcase.

Types of items accepted:
Paintings
Drawings
Digital art
Photos
Mixed media
Textile pieces
3D items (hanging only)
PLEASE NOTE: Altered books will be accepted ONLY IF they are mounted inside a shadowbox or similar frame and wired for hanging.

As we are a public library, we cannot accept any pieces with full frontal nudity, profane words, or violent/disturbing imagery. Pieces are evaluated at the Volunteer Exhibits Curator's discretion.

The library takes a 25% commission on each piece sold.
All artists displaying with the library will complete an Artist Agreement form at drop-off.
Any artists selling art must also complete a W9 at drop-off.
