Thursday 6/20 at 5pm

Lace up your sneakers, grab your headphones, and join us for a walk on the literary side! Use your smartphone to check out an audiobook on the Hoopla app, meet at the library where we will have water and healthy snacks, then go for a walk along Great Oak Road while you listen to your audiobook. When the hour is up, feel free to come back into the library to cool down & chat with fellow walkers about the books you listened to.

Morgan is a Middle School Language Arts teacher who will be hosting a workshop (same workshop offered twice) about polishing writing skills and gaining a better understanding of what is expected when an essay is assigned. Crafternoons: Tuesdays at 1pm

Adult Program

Each week will feature a different craft which participants will be able to bring home! All supplies will be provided and all skill levels are welcome!

Movie vs. Book Club (Ages 8+)

Tues. 7/30 from 5PM—6:45PM

When you sign up for the program, we will order you a copy of the book and call you when it   arrives.

Then, on movie day, we will all watch the movie at the library and chat about both!

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

This is a “Drop-Off” program: children 8 and older may attend without an adult. However, their parent/caregiver must drop them off and pick them up from inside the library at the designated program times.

TEEN VOLUNTEERS

Join us every Tuesday evening from 5:30pm—6:30pm to volunteer at the library! Teens will be asked to shop for new titles, locate damaged books, prepare crafts, and more!

(Ages  0 to about 2)

Recommended for friends who are still practicing tummy time up to friends just starting to walk.

Baby Time is very focused on interaction between the adult and baby.

“Bring the Hoopla” Hula Hoop Program

We are so excited to have Bring the Hoopla at the library! Nicole and her crew allow each participant to find success within their hoop through (hula) hoop instruction that brings the fun back into fitness and builds self-confidence through positive activity, creativity, and teamwork.

Craft “Chopped”

Adult Program

Thursday 8/1 at 6pm

What can you create with leftover craft supplies? Participants will be given a “basket” of crafting materials and their task is to create a cohesive project in a 1-hour time frame! Whether you're a seasoned crafter or new to the world of DIY, the craft chopped challenge offers an exciting opportunity to test your skills, learn new techniques, and unleash your inner maker.

DIY Nature Journals

Fri. 8/2 from 2pm—3pm

Join us to start your own nature journal!

Each participant will receive a blank journal to

decorate however they would like!

We will learn about what sort of things nature journals usually include, create leaf rubbings, press flowers, and more!

Participants will be able to take their journal home with lots of inspiration to continue adding to it beyond our program!

Crop Swap

Adult Program 

Saturday 7/13 and 8/3 at 11 am

This gathering offers an opportunity to trade homegrown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other garden goodies with fellow participants. Bring surplus produce from your gardens and swap it for items grown by others in the community.

Homework Help

Mon. 8/5 and Wed. 8/7

Does your child have summer math or reading projects this year? Are they looking for a quiet and comfy spot to work? Do they need a little guidance to stay  focused and complete their assignments to the best of their ability? We are offering four one-hour homework help sessions this summer, led by our dear friend   Ms. Rydz! Registered participants can bring their work to the meeting room of the library, where we will have snacks and quiet music, and Ms. Rydz will be available to help out with spots you may be stuck on.

Please Note: This program is to offer guidance and encouragement for when kid's are feeling stuck but is not a replacement for formal instruction.
Each session must be registered for separately.

Interactive Story Time Theater
"The Great Kapok Tree"

Mon. 8/5 from 3pm—4pm

(Ages 5—12)

Come enjoy a reading by Ms. Ingrid of this picture book about a man who exhausts himself trying to chop down a giant kapok tree. While he sleeps, the forest’s residents, including a child from the Yanomamo tribe, whisper in his ear about the importance of trees and how "all living things depend on one another" . . . and it works. After the story, Ingrid will lead the kid's in a mini-theater production of the play and end the program with a fun craft!

Writing Workshop

Does your child have a summer writing assignment or are they beginning a school year that will have more demanding writing expectations? If you want your child to start the next school year with a little more  confidence and understanding of academic writing, be sure to sign up for one of our Writing Workshops with Ms. Morgan!

Morgan is a Middle School Language Arts teacher who will be hosting a workshop (same workshop offered twice) about polishing writing skills and gaining a better understanding of what is expected when an essay is assigned. Registered  participants will be able to develop these skills in a fun and relaxed setting with their peers!
