FUNDRAISING:

Fundraiser/TWG Committee: Work with the fundraising team to create an energetic and fun fall fundraiser!

Bookfair Leads: This committee schedules and organizes the fall and spring bookfairs, setup and breakdown, recruiting volunteers to help. Getting teacher book wishlists from teachers. Usually twice a year, weeklong commitment during school hours.

Boxtops: This person is the contact person for the Boxtops fundraiser. Coordinates making sure the fall and spring checks arrive and helps communicate how to participate with parents.

Spirit Rock: Create spirit rock signup genius at the first of the year and communicates with anyone who has questions/concerns.

Family Night Out: Schedules monthly family night out events by calling local restaurants. Percentage paid back to PTA. List of local contacts provided.

Spiritwear Committee: This person(s) will help design spiritwear for OP and coordinate orders with our vendor. Fills spiritwear orders at school every other week, as needed.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:

Art Appreciation: Create and organize art appreciation lessons & classroom volunteers to conduct monthly. Previous year’s documents provided.

 

5th Grade Planning: Plan 5th grade BLAST, coordinate 5th grade gift and run February candygrams.

5th grade promotion: Traditionally a group of 4th grade parents that help decorate for the promotion ceremony for the 5th graders and help with check-in the morning of.

Kinder Activities: Plan August meet ‘n greet playground event for Kindergarten families and help with welcoming decor/setup at spring Beginner’s Night.

School Store: 7:45-8:20am during school mornings running the school store. Your student can run it with you!

Welcoming Committee: School tours for interested incoming families.

International Cultures: Creating classroom curriculum and plan for International Week.

Visiting Artist: Use Arts Council grant to bring artists to OP.

APPRECIATION:

Back-to-School Luncheon: Plan back-to-school luncheon for staff during their return to school in August. Catered lunch, volunteer and donation signup.

Sunshine Committee: Bringing drinks and snacks to monthly staff meeting. Usually scheduled at the end of the school day, last Wednesday of month.

SchoolMates: Coordinate with Idlewild Elementary, our sister school, about their student needs. Uniform or donation drive during the first weeks of school and staff appreciation lunch in spring.

Staff Appreciation: Plan Staff Appreciation week for OP staff! Set for the national week during the spring.

Staff Birthdays: Keeps track of monthly staff birthdays and delivers birthday card/giftcard to the school. Sends Staff Favorites google doc to new staff members and communicates with website lead to get names/links added to Staff Love page.

Star Student: Puts the Star Student sign in 2 yards each month.

FAMILY EVENTS:

Daddy/Daughter Dance Coordinator(s): Plan the dance - including music, food and scheduling photographers and coordinate volunteers.

Fall Event Coordinator: This person(s) will organize activities & food, schedule DJ & coordinate volunteers.

Mother/Son Event Coordinator: Schedule and plan an event for mothers and sons.

Family Spirit Night Coordinator:  Book Family Spirit Nights for OP. This person will contact and schedule the Charlotte Knights, Charlotte Checkers, skating or any other family fun night. Try to have at least 1 event each year.

Muffins with Mom: Event during morning arrival where moms receive muffins and visit classrooms. End with Kindergarten musical performance in the gym. Committee plans the muffins, coffee, volunteers portion. MAY

Donuts with Dad: Event during morning arrival where dads receive donuts and visit classrooms. Ends with 3rd grade musical performance in the gym. Committee plans the donuts, coffee, volunteers portion.

SCHOOL SUPPORT:

Stage Crew: Help to clear and prep the stage before and after events(concerts, performances and 5th grade promotion).

Ms. Allen’s Art Assistants: Works with Mrs. Allen to organize and hang art, etc. during the school day as needed.

Yearbook Committee: Manage orders and plan and design our yearbook with the Herff Jones yearbook rep.

Media Center Committee: This committee will help Mrs. Rearick during school hours on a regular basis. She typically needs help shelving books, making name tags, birthday books and other various things. Schedule will be set by your availability during times that Mrs. Rearick needs.

Olde Men Lead: Handle committee list and sending email requests out to the men as needed.

Edukits & Agendas: Work with teachers to get supply list and setup Edukit ordering. Ordering Agendas.

Room Parents: Manage Room Parent list and communicate as needed.

Beautification: Managing the campus grounds.

Marquee(1-2x per month): Update the school marquee.

PTA Membership: Update the Memberhub list of current PTA members based on memberships bought on the PTA website. Helps man the PTA table at in-person meetings or events.
