The 2023 Annual Chili Cookoff and Advocacy Day is just around the corner on Tuesday, March 21. The cookoff highlights the community’s support of child advocacy efforts and gives advocates a base from which to visit their lawmakers for Advocacy Day. We will be set up at the State Capitol in the south parking lot and ready to serve beginning at 11 a.m. and go until 2 p.m.

The theme of this year’s Cookoff is “Celebrating 40 Years of Advocating for Oklahoma’s Children.” Our official logo for this year’s t-shirt is still being finalized and we’ll let you know soon what that looks like!

Thank you to those Supreme Court Justices, Judges, Workers Comp Administrative Law Judges, and Capitol journalists who will serve as the chili judges!

Sponsorships are available but if you want your name, business or personal, on this year’s shirt, the deadline is March 11 at 5 p.m. Names on the shirt are listed for sponsors at the $100 level and logos are listed for sponsors at $250 and above. Each sponsor will receive a T-shirt and recognition at the event and on merchandise.

For a sponsorship of at least $100, partner youth organizations will receive a complimentary 2023 membership and a guaranteed listing in our 2024 OICA Legislative Desktop Calendar as one of our featured youth organizations. These calendars are distributed to donors, state and federal legislators, and partner organizations in late January each year.

You will also be able to enjoy other benefits of being an Organizational Member. We also encourage your organization’s board members and advocates to become individual members of OICA. We can all make a bigger impact at the Capitol when we work together for the future of Oklahoma’s children.
