Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® is committed to use our collective efforts to fight the stigma and raise awareness related to depression, anxiety, and trauma. In support of our International Program Initiative Empower Our Families, the women of Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter bring to the Glen Burnie, MD community a FREE mental health summit.
The summit will feature three sessions:
- A Woman's Story: moving from generational trauma, care giver strain, and the daily stresses to good mental health;
- The mental health crisis today's youth are facing, why are they struggling, and what parents need to know to help; and
- Minding our mental health through nutrition.

**Participants are asked to donate food and/or essential items to help fight food insecurity in youth and provide essential care items for seniors (see list below).
