We are so glad that you're interested in becoming an OFMA Board Member and/or Volunteer!

The Oregon Farmers Markets Association (OFMA) is a non-profit, membership organization, which provides services to Oregon’s farmers markets. Our mission is to support local agriculture and healthy communities by strengthening and promoting farmers markets across the state.

OFMA is run by an energetic Executive Director and up to 13 active Board members, who participate in at least one of the following 4 project committees: Executive, Fundraising, DEI and Membership (and ad-hoc marketing projects).   We also welcome Committee/Project volunteers who are not yet ready for board service but are interested in getting involved in specific activities.

We are excited to grow our impact by recruiting more innovative, passionate people to join the Board and/or a Committee, who share our love of food, health, and community-building. We are also committed to having our staff, volunteers and Board of Directors reflect the diversity of the communities which we serve.

*Scope of Board member role:

- Dedicate 5-10 hours per month (flexible depending on the season, Board role, and committee activities)
- Join 1 project committee
- Attend monthly Board meetings (via conference call)
- Attend 1-3 annual meetings/events including annual meeting and strategic planning retreat
- Be a positive representative of OFMA to the public, our members, and our partners
- Nonprofit Board experience is not required, but knowledge of nonprofit operations and a passion for local food is preferred. We are a fun, supportive, and open-minded group – we welcome fresh ideas and perspectives.

*Scope of Committee/Project Volunteer (only) role:

- We welcome committee and/or project volunteers on a case-by-case basis.
- Dedicate 3-5 hours per committee/project per month.
- Attend monthly Committee/project meetings (via conference call)
- Be a positive representative of OFMA to the public, our members, and our partners
