Our New Website
From Art Rotman, GVR Computer Club President
If you haven’t noticed, we have a brand new website: visit ccgvaz.org. The website is nearly fully functional. Go ahead, try all of the links.
So, why the change? We decided there were several key reasons why we needed to develop a new website: we needed to have a much stronger appeal to new members; we needed active links to new pages, links that really worked; and we wanted much better visuals, including photos of members seen enjoying themselves at our facilities.
Our goal was to make our website destination the best in Green Valley, bar none. I believe we have succeeded. See for yourself at ccgvaz.org and let us know!

Tips for Avoiding Malware
Contributed by Don Coon, a member of the Club's Tech Support Team
- Assume Microsoft or anyone else will never blindly contact you by phone or webpage. There are over a billion Windows computers. They don't have time for you! 😢
- If a webpage asks you to call a number or click on a button, DON’T!!! Restart your computer NOW! This should get rid of the problem.
- Before you decide to download any program, first check to see if it is available at www.ninite.com. This is a great website for downloading software that is safe.
- If you barge ahead, first create a restore point in case you screw up. Type into Cortana, “create restore point”. (Or search for "create a restore point" in Start button>Settings.)
- If you're brave, reckless, or stubborn, be aware that the commercial bench rate to recover a fried computer can exceed $100 an hour. 😢
