Presidential Scholarship (MUST be admitted as a new freshman for the FALL 2024 Semester. Currently enrolled students are NOT eligible.)

This is the most prestigious scholarship offered by NEIU covering full in-state tuition, fees, and provides a book allowance for four academic years (120 credit hours). Recipients are also automatically admitted into the University Honors Program. The award does not cover housing in the NEIU Nest.

Eligibility Requirements:
-Must be an admitted freshman whose first semester of enrollment will be the Fall 2024 Semester.
-Minimum ACT composite score of 25 (or 1200 on the SAT) OR must be in the top 10% of graduating class
-Minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
-Must be a graduate/graduating senior from an Illinois high school at the time of application for the scholarship.
-U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and DACA/undocumented students who are Illinois residents and that meet the academic requirements are welcome to apply.
-Transfer students, currently enrolled students, 2nd BA students, graduate students, and international students are not eligible to apply.

Must complete the following:
-The online application (including short essay)
-Upload resume or listing of honors, extracurricular activities, community service, employment, and etc.
- Submit with your application a writing sample that exemplifies your best critical written work completed during your junior or senior year of high school (two type written pages minimum, cite sources as appropriate).
-Upload 3 letters of recommendations (2 must be from high school teachers or guidance counselors)
