Dr. Glenn Reside
Dr. Glenn J. Reside is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC School of Dentistry. He earned a BS degree in Chemistry at Illinois College, a MS degree in Biochemistry at the University of Illinois, and a DMD degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Immediately after college he entered military service and became a Special Forces Officer assigned to Vietnam. Upon return to the United States, he went to graduate school and dental school and then completed a General Practice Residency at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC, and an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. After retiring from the military he became the Section Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He is currently Director of Dental Student Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery education and the primary faculty for dental implantology in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training program.
