Many parents struggle to make ends meet during the school holidays when they usually rely on free school lunches and breakfast club to keep their children fed.

Heartbreakingly, one mum-of-two, from Dewsbury, sadly found herself without any food in the house to give her children breakfast after her partner recently lost his job.

She said this along with the cost of living crisis and the recent school holidays meant things were very difficult and forced her into a position where she had no choice but the reach our for help.

Thankfully, for this family of four, local charity hero Tanisha Bramwell was able to step in and help providing them with a food parcel at 12pm at night to make sure the children could have breakfast the following morning.

Taking to Facebook, Tanisha wrote: "A moment ago I received a distressing call from a local mother, her and her children are currently without food. She asked for cereal, pancakes and juice so her children can eat breakfast before school.

"It’s almost 12am and me and my team are on route to our food bank to accommodate and deliver tonight, so her children can eat as normal in the morning."

The post was quickly flooded with praise for Tanisha for helping the young family, one Facebook user Caroline Baber penned: "The relief that mother would have felt. You are amazing."

Whilst Dawn Simpson said: "Thats fabulous Tanisha. You work so hard to help people in desperate need. You and your team are angels." And Yvonne Vitos wrote: "It’s marvellous what you all do to help people."

Tanisha Bramwell told Yorkshire Live: "Every day, our food bank witnesses uncertainty, with struggling parents and a local rise in poverty. Even a family that has never needed a food bank can find themselves in such circumstances within just four weeks.

"The truth is, anyone can experience tough times, and unfortunately, local support is at an all-time low. These are the tragic truths of the cost of living crisis.”
