Villanova Social Justice Documentary 2019/2020

Donation protected
Hello family and pals! It's me, Mallory! This year I am fortunate enough to be a Multimedia Producer of Villanova University’s International Social Justice Documentary course. From October 11th to October 26th, my classmates and I will travel to Singida, Tanzania to film a documentary regarding issues in clean water access for local populations. In the past, this classes’ documentaries have gone on to win in various film festivals, including the Student Academy Awards.

For this year’s project, we are partnering with The Chris Long Foundation {https://chrislongfoundation.org/) which is built upon the belief that borders do not limit caring about our fellow neighbors. They are involved in a variety of social justice issues such as military appreciation, homelessness, youth support, and, the section we will be involved with, clean water. They work closely with current and former athletes from both the NFL and NBA as well as military vets to raise money and awareness for these causes.

The purpose of this course is to create a twenty-minute documentary, recounting the stories around the local area in Singida, to show how a lack of clean water access impacts the greater community and the family as a unit. It is our hope that by the premiere of our film we can raise $45,000 to build a well in a village in Singida.

Your current donation to this page will go towards travel expenses including airfare, food, lodging, on-ground transportation, medical needs, and post-production events. If you are interested in being a part of such a cause, please consider donating!

Thank you taking the time to read all of this. This class is unlike any other I've taken at Villanova--one that I am positive will shape my time here. As much as I love Econ, this class merges my interest in business, with the creativity of working on a story that could truly make an impact.

Thank you for considering donating, it means the world.
