Method B - Manual Readings
Use this form to report manual meter readings for a period of time while you are away.

Instructions:

a) Look for a time when no one is going to be home for at least 24 hours AND when heating and air conditioning are off. When the last person leaves, go to your electric meter and write down the kWh reading or take a photograph of the meter’s kWh reading. Note the date and time. (If you have a solar installation, also get a kWh reading from your solar production meter, inverter or inverter website, for the same date and time.)

b) When the first person returns, go to your meter and write down the kWh reading or take a photograph of the meter’s kWh reading. Note the date and time. (If you have a solar installation also get a kWh reading from your solar production meter, inverter or inverter website, for the same date and time.)

You may email any meter reading photos you have to hello@themarea.org. Please include your full name in any emails you send us, thanks!

Here's how we'll use the data you send us:
We’ll calculate the kWh used (Final kWh reading – first kWh reading) while the house was empty and divide it by the number of empty hours.

We'll email the results back to you and be interested in your observations about the findings! Thanks again for participating.

If you need help, call us at (484) 646-3295 or send email to hello@themarea.org

PLEASE KNOW: Absolutely nothing identifying you or your property will be shared with others, unless you ask us to. The energy findings from this project will be reported on collectively, without every divulging any personal information. Any questions, do let us know. Thanks.
