Hello! We hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer thus far!  As we head into the new school year, the Seven Hills Parent Community is actively seeking volunteers to support some activities earmarked throughout the year. What's Parent Community? There's an overview below to hopefully explain.

We look forward to a fun-filled 2023-24! Thank you!

~Alisa & Kelly, The Lotspeich Parent Community Co-Chairs

Parent Community Structure
Parent Community - LOTSPEICH DIVISION (PreK2 - 5th grade)
The Parent Community Lotspeich division is comprised of the Lotspeich campus PreK - 5th grade parents.  Throughout the year, it coordinates many experiences for families, parents and teachers and is fueled 100% by parent volunteers and family attendance. Alisa Pitocco and Kelly Carrier are the co-chairs.

The focus again in 2023-24, as we continue to transition out of the impact of the pandemic, is to create even more opportunities for parents to meet and connect. We’ll be actively seeking to prioritize ways to broaden the Parent Community’s parent input and volunteer opportunities with a wider range of events and meeting times.

Overall Ways to Participate in the Parent Community:

  • Leadership Team: oversees the coordination of all Lotspeich Parent Community efforts and manages the budget.

  • Committee Chair: coordinates the details of a specific event or effort, including organizing other volunteers.

  • Event Volunteer: assists with specific tasks for an event with the guidance of the Committee Chair.

  • Event Attendee: attends the event or activity.

Request for Volunteers - Signup
We're actively seeking volunteers for several activities that will definitely be a part of the 2023-2024 school year.  The Parent Community has an annual budget to help support activities for parents/kids, as well as, teacher appreciation efforts. Parent Community volunteers help plan these efforts, but are not responsible for paying for them or fundraising.

In the subsequent questions, we'll provide a brief description of each activity and ask if you'd like to be included on the volunteer list for the event.

Prior to the event/activity, the Committee Chairperson will reach out to you with details about planning meetings, event coordination, etc.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reach out to Alisa Pitocco alisa.pitocco@gmail.com or Kelly Carrier kellyhill01@gmail.com

Thank you!

PARENT SOCIAL COORDINATORS  (ADULTS-ONLY EVENTS)

**There are 7 Parent Socials Coordinators needed, one for each grade level (Combined Pre-K2 & Pre-K3-4, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th)

Parent Socials are adult-only events aimed to give parents/caregivers an opportunity to meet and get to know each other in a fun kids-free environment.

The Lotspeich Fall Parent Socials are organized by grade-level. Each grade will have their own event to mingle in a smaller group setting.

Parent Social Coordinators coordinate a location (restaurant/venue or home) for the adults-only grade level Parent Socials held in the Fall. They manage the invitations and the event.
The school provides reimbursement up to $500 and can share a list of venues to consider.
GRADE-LEVEL PARENT REPS (NEW THIS YEAR)

Based on parent feedback, we're proposing a new role for 2023-24. Grade-Level Reps will help facilitate Grade-Level Meetups with the goal of giving families in each grade even more opportunities to get to know each other better.

We're seeking two (2) parent volunteers for each grade to help facilitate these casual Meetups several times throughout the year. (All Parents/Children within the grade will be invited to attend the Meetups).

We'd also like Grade-Level Reps to attend the quarterly Parent Community meetings and assist with communicating news/events throughout the year.

If you're interested in volunteering for this new role, please let us.  More specific details will follow.
ROOM PARENT (MANAGED BY HOMEROOM TEACHER)

Support the homeroom teacher throughout the year with activities that take place during school hours
Oftentimes, the specific needs vary by homeroom teacher, but in the past some tasks have included coordinating Halloween and Valentine's Day classroom activities, and managing sign-ups for field trip chaperones.

As needed, Room Parents will work with Parent Community Leadership and Grade-Level Reps to remind parents about events.

If you're interested in being a Room Parent, we will pass along your information to the Homeroom Teachers and they will reach out at the beginning of the school year once children have been assigned to homerooms.
SPIRIT SHOP
All are welcome to join the fun and spread Stinger pride! Make lifelong friends in the Spirit Shop. Work one shift per MONTH from 11:-00am - 1:15pm - That’s all there is to it :)  No experience needed. The Spirit Shop is located just outside Kalnow Gym on the Hillsdale Campus.
