About
The Lebanon Urban Design Verification (UDV) project identified walking and biking needs and potential solutions on OR 34 and U.S. 20 highways in Lebanon. Our goal was to have solutions that can be included in existing or upcoming projects over the next five to 10 years.
Potential solutions could include:
Why is this study happening now?
We studied these highways to understand potential designs before future maintenance or other projects are planned for the area. With this study, we can look for funding to include the improvements along with other necessary work to make best use of our limited resources. For example, if we have a project to update the curb ramps, we may be able to also improve pedestrian crossings with new striping and signs that make it safer to cross the street. We defined these desired improvements as part of the UDV study so that they can be easily implemented later as opportunities arise.
For this study project, we:
Summarized the existing conditions of the highway.
Reviewed relevant background documents to see what the corridor(s) may need.
Looked at traffic flow and movement.
Looked at options for parking and how it is used.
Developed a preferred design concept and produced a final corridor design study.
Past Meetings and Events
We had in-person and online outreach events to gather feedback from the community throughout the project.
