Leah's breast cancer journey

Donation protected
On Wednesday the 16th of March 2022, our friend/sister Leah Pattison received the most devastating news that she has stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 28.
Leah is a mother to a non verbal autistic boy who is her pride and joy. He is her passion and in her words "He needs me just as much as I need him".
Leah has had to go through surgery on her breast to remove the cancer and for it to be tested. She recently received the result telling her she has tested positive for her2. HER2-positive breast cancer is a breast cancer that tests positive for a protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). This protein promotes the growth of cancer cells. In about 1 of every 5 breast cancers, the cancer cells have extra copies of the gene that makes the HER2 protein. Leah will be having aggressive chemotherapy in a couple of weeks for 18 weeks and injections in her leg for 1 year for her2. Leah has some more test to come where the decision will be made weather to take her breast . Leah will lose her hair from the treatment but she doesn't want the cancer to take away anything more from her so she is going to shave her hair off before it starts to take it away from her. Us as her friends want to help raise money for a wig for when she shaves her hair and help with travel expenses. Her partner is going to take some time off work to be there for her which means he will lose pay and bills will still need paying. With the cost of things rising its going to be a struggle. Leah is always putting someone before herself and has dedicated her life to her son. She never asks for help. She's going through so much as it is and has a long road ahead. We just want to take one less stress away and raise some money so she can focus the fight she has ahead of her and not have to worry about getting to her appointments & keeping her house warm etc she can and will beat this cancer. Leahs always took pride in her hair and even though hair doesn't define her beauty it's a big part of a girls life we want to try and make it easier for her when it's time for the big cut. There will be a time and a place for the day leah wants to shave her hair off coming up once it is organised we will update you as it's to support macmillians every penny raised on that day will go to them. We have set up this go fund me for her as even in her own time of need she wants to raise money for them & not herself.

This is leahs journey she is our champ she is our hero she is our family and family stick together ❤

Thankyou everyone for reading updates will be posted as & when ❤
