LSI CANCELED:
First and foremost, we hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.
As you have probably heard by now, Laney College will remain closed through June 30th, 2020 to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As a commitment to our communities, we will not host the Laney College Summer Institute this year. I realize this is a difficult situation. Rest assured that we explored multiple virtual options before we arrived at this decision.
We thank you for your interest in our programs and for your commitment to the education of our youth. We are all inspired by the stories we are hearing about the strength, creativity, generosity, and perseverance by our community. We will do all we can to keep this community safe and support student educational needs, during this pandemic and into the future.
We encourage you to still register your interest by filling out the form below. We'll keep you on the list for opportunities that come up once the campus is reopened.
Please, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at
laney-cte@peralta.edu.
Thank you for all your support! Stay safe and stay healthy.

NOTE: This is a form to register your interest for Laney Summer Institute programs for 2020. It is NOT an application for any of the programs. Rather this form is to capture information from students, teachers, parents, counselors, etc. so we can keep you informed about our programs.
Once information is posted on summer programs (typically in March), we'll email you to let you know that applications are available to fill out.
*********
Hi,
Each summer the Career Education Department at Laney College (Oakland) offers a number of programs for interested students in the Bay Area.
The programs range from 3 to 5 weeks long and are focused on learning about different career pathways while earning college credit through hands-on activities. While preference will be given to high school students, others may apply and if space is available, may be admitted.
Fill out the form below showing your interest. To see what classes might be offered, you can go to the Laney Summer Institute website (
http://Laney.edu/summer). We will either show the upcoming summer programs being offered, or if they haven't posted yet, we'll show you the classes offered the previous year. We're always adding new classes so if you don't see something from last year, that doesn't mean it won't be offered.
Regards,
Kim Gonzales
