ASD - A DEEPER PERSPECTIVE This course is aimed at deepening delegate’s knowledge of ASD and the impact this has on pupils social and academic progress in school. To include information to further highlight and explain the difficulties that pupils with ASD experience and underpin the often inappropriate manner in which pupils may respond in different situations. This course will also highlight appropriate strategies to meet the social and academic needs of pupils with ASD to ensure inclusive practice can be fulfilled. TARGET AUDIENCE:

FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR RQT’S This programme has been developed specifically for teachers in their early career. It will build on and develop the essential skills they need to flourish within a school environment. It will focus on top tips that will enable ECT’s /RQT’s to become even more effective in their role and a key member of the school. The programme will also support them in developing their leadership skills to ensure their impact is maximised. The programme consists of 5 half days spread over 6 months to enable the skills learnt to be put into practice and their impact measured. The programme is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and successful completion will lead to a Foundation in Leadership and Management certificate. As participants you will become members of the Institute of Leadership and Management and will therefore get 12 months free access to their excellent website and resources featuring all aspects of leadership and management. COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES & USE OF VISUAL SUPPORTS Explore the use of purposeful communication strategies, which will help identify and support children who have difficulty in participating and engaging in learning. Explore interaction, questioning and enhancing your learning environment through the use of effective communication methods. SPEECH, LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION NEEDS STRATEGIES A greater understanding of Speech Language and Communication Needs with Strategies to support expressive, receptive and pragmatic language differences. An introduction to SLCN and supporting strategies in the learning environment. During the session delegates will become familiar with the difficulties associated with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and know how these impact on children’s learning inside and outside of the classroom. Delegates will become aware of the terms associated with SLCN and know how to identify the different aspects of SLCN e.g. receptive, expressive and semantic pragmatic language needs. LEGO THERAPY Lego Therapy(c) is an intervention to support the development of language skills. In Lego Therapy(c) pupils work in teams to build Lego models, developing their language skills as they do. In this practical session you will learn how to prepare for, facilitate and assess Lego Therapy sessions. TARGET AUDIENCE:

IDENTIFYING THE SENSORY NEED This is an engaging programme which will give an understanding of sensory differences, during the training session delegates will have the opportunity to recognise what is a sensory need and become familiar with using a sensory audit. There are a multitude of fun practical activities which will aid with planning and supporting pupils with sensory need in the classroom. TARGET AUDIENCE:

SPLD AWARENESS & CLASSROOM STRATEGIES This programme provides an introduction to Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia & Irlen Syndrome and will include other associated SPLDs including Dysgraphia. The session will include identification of such SpLDs, the difficulties presented and suggested strategies for inclusion in the classroom. TARGET AUDIENCE:

The NPQSL is for those who are, or are aspiring to become, a Senior Leader with cross-school responsibilities e.g. an experienced Middle Leader, an Assistant Head Teacher, a Deputy Head Teacher, or other senior staff. This includes those who are, or are aspiring to be, a senior leader with cross-school responsibilities, e.g. a Director of a Teaching School Alliance.

NPQML is for those who are, or are aspiring to become, a Middle Leader with responsibility for leading a team such as a key stage leader, a curriculum area leader, a pastoral services leader, a subject leader, a special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO), or a head of department/faculty. Early Career Framework We here at Ladywood Teaching School are delighted to confirm that we are working in partnership with The Education Development Trust and the roll out of the Early Career Framework (ECF). This support package for teachers, new to the profession, has been created as a two year cross phase programme, designed to support teachers with high quality

support material and a robust mentor system. It is the intention of the DfE to roll out the programme from Sept 2020 (given the current COVID 19 crisis). The programme is designed and incorporates elements of face to face sessions/ mentor led sessions / webinars/ online and self-study materials. The ECF is designed to further raise the quality

of teachers and teaching as well as improving the retention rates within the profession thus impacting on quality of education and life chances for our children and young people.
