Job overview

The Leicestershire and Rutland Teaching School Hub has been awarded one of the 87 new national Teaching School Hubs for Charnwood, Hinckley and Bosworth, Melton, North West Leicestershire, Rutland.

We are now seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic leader who will establish outstanding provision which will transform support for staff throughout our region and improve lives for children and young people.

The newly appointed Director will be well supported by the Trust, through collaboration with our partner Teaching School Hub based at Rushey Mead Academy in Leicester and through our key partners at Forestway Teaching Alliance, Loughborough Teaching Alliance, Rutland Teaching Alliance, Thomas Estley Learning Alliance and the Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT. The role will be based at Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy in Leicester (LE3 6DF) but you will be expected to attend other locations throughout Leicestershire and Rutland as required.

As the Director of the Teaching School Hub, you will create a centre of excellence for teacher training and development across the region. The Teaching School Hub will provide high quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their careers. It will play a significant role in delivering school-based initial teacher training (ITT), the early career framework (ECF) when it is available nationally from September 2021, the new specialist and leadership national professional qualifications (NPQ) and appropriate body services for early career teachers. Teaching school hubs will also promote and deliver other high-quality evidence-based professional development to school leaders and teachers.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and non- practitioners, as key to this role will be your ability to enable the system, so it is not a necessity to have classroom experience.

If you believe you have the vision and expertise to become our Director of the Teaching School Hub, we would love to hear from you.

For a confidential discussion please call our Director of Performance and Standards, Martin Fitzwilliam (07816160623)

To apply you will be directed to our website and a full application pack that needs to be completed and returned by Friday 26th March at 9am.

The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.
