Knowledge Survey for "Self-Assessment Deep Dive," Global Mind Ed, June, 2022, Denver, Colorado
INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome! This may be your first experience at using an instrument that offers practice in honing your self-assessment accuracy by using content from a workshop or assignment. It's a knowledge survey rather than a test. It contains 14 multiple choice items and should take only a few minutes to complete.

In a knowledge survey, you won’t actually answer any of the multiple choice items in it.  Instead, you will rate (on a three-point scale) your competence to answer each item based on your present knowledge. Read each item, and then respond by clicking the most appropriate response button on the survey in accord with the following.

Mark an “A” as response to an item ONLY if you feel competent to address the item sufficiently for graded test purposes. Mark a “B” response to an item if you feel competent now to address at least 50% of it or if you know precisely where you could quickly get the information needed to do so and could return here in a few minutes to provide a complete answer for graded test purposes.  Mark a “C” as response to the item if you are not confident that you can answer the question for graded test purposes at this time. Marking of an “A” “B” or “C” will go quickly after you get familiar with the system of responding based on confidence.

Do your best to provide very accurate assessments of your present knowledge. If you mark an “A” that states you have significant competence to address an item, you should be confident that you could teach another person, RIGHT NOW,  to understand the content if the person you are teaching had to be able to do so for graded test purposes.

To obtain the best learning benefit from a knowledge survey, try to make the most accurate self-assessment that you can. A successful response to this survey is one that neither overestimates nor underestimates the relevant knowledge that you now currently have to address each item.

This same survey may be given again at the end of a course, module, or workshop.

You can get a printable file of this survey from the session's conveners by sending your request to enuhfer@earthlink.net. If you wish, you can use it during the session to track your mastery of the material as we engage with it together. Accurate self-assessment is a practical skill that may be at least as important as any content knowledge.
