Warm greetings!
The League of Filipino Students - CSSP is a local chapter of the leading anti-imperialist youth organization in the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, UP Diliman. As a mass organization of the Filipino youth, we strive to arouse, organize and mobilize the masses and fight for free education and the democratic rights of the students and of the marginalized sectors.
Right now, the Philippines remains to be the only country that has not returned to face to face classes due to the criminal negligence of President Duterte amid the pandemic. Seeing that many public places are now reopening, there is no excuse for the Duterte regime to not extend its effort in safely reopening the schools. Students are burnt out while receiving less than quality education. It is for these reasons that the student youth sector continuously uphold the Ligtas na Balik Eskwela campaign.
The students of CSSP have long clamored for the safe reopening of schools; however, there haven't been any concrete plans nor consultations regarding this. LFS-CSSP believes that the CSSP students, along with faculty and staff, can create their own roadmap that is suitable to their material conditions and needs.
To create the roadmap for the whole college, department assemblies and organization assemblies must be organized to gather sufficient data to outline the content of the proposal. The data gathered from all departments will then be synthesized to create a comprehensive roadmap for CSSP that will also highlight the particular needs of each department.
Such initiatives are not unheard of since last October 5th, the DLSU University Student Government proposed an Education Recovery Plan to forward their constituents' calls for Ligtas na Balik Eskwela. This proves that the student campaign can only be done through mass undertaking and the collective effort among different sectors of the CSSP community. Therefore, we are cordially inviting you to join us in creating a roadmap for the safe return of the CSSP community to F2F classes.
