Junior College Boot Camp
The BHS School Counselors are offering the second annual Boot Camp for 11th graders to get a jumpstart on the college process. Please sign up for each session you are interested in attending by checking 'Yes' under the title for that date. You can choose one session or all of them. You are welcome to bring your own electronic device (an iPad or laptop...not your phone); however, one can be provided for you if you request one below.

All sessions are in the Audion from 2:30 - 4:30pm with transportation provided by the Activity Bus

Monday February 25th: College Process Nuts & Bolts - learn the overall application process from start to finish. Create a College Board account and sync PSAT/SAT scores to the Khan Academy. Learn when/how to set up campus visits and college fairs. Learn about SEED, Inspire, and NCAA for Division I or Division II sports.
Tuesday February 26th: College Board Deep Dive - do a college search via Big Future and the College Board reflecting on personal preferences, values, and “deal breakers” create an actual list of schools to apply to.
Wednesday February 27th: Work Session and Setup - join the Schoology group, create both a Parchment and Common App account. If time permits, there will also be a FAFSA overview about Financial Aid.
Thursday February 28th: Essay Writing and Recommendations - Mr. Caldwell and Ms. Walker will be taking students on a journey of how to draft and submit the best possible essays with timelines and tips. Mrs. Hullman will guide students on how best to identify recommenders for their college applications.
