My Students

My science classroom is a place for students to, in the words of the legendary Ms. Frizzle, "Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!" Students spend the year exploring biology and earth science concepts through interactive labs and digital media resources. They research, design, execute and report their own labs regularly, work collaboratively with classmates, and love the world with their passion and excitement for conservation and the future!

My students are creative, energetic, and excited to learn!

My Project

A few years ago we added outdoor recess for our students during lunch. This means after students eat lunch they are free to go outside and play soccer, volleyball, football, jump rope and use sidewalk chalk to draw. Our students love recess and go out even when it is cold outside (Minnesota cold)!

These materials will help our students engage in fun and be healthy!

Recess helps our school climate as well. Teachers and staff comment that they can tell when students haven't had the opportunity to go outside and release their energy.
