A Slice of “Spiritual Bread” for the Christian Home . . .
“I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
Special Thanks to Parents & Students for making "Teacher Appreciation Week 2018" so very special. The gifts of love and thanks from our St. John School family really warmed the hearts of our teachers.
Please continue to keep our teachers in your prayers as we strive to help the students grow in their love for Jesus and in their academic skills as well.
We are blessed here at St. John Lutheran School. Please spread the word and encourage others to "Join Our Family" for the 2018-19 school year and beyond. God is good!
With Love and Appreciation in Christ,
Jon Woldt, Principal
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
The collection for Teacher Appreciation Week had an outstanding amount of support! Thank you! Your donations were used towards gifts for the 7 staff teachers, a teaching assistant, our Principal, our Pastor, and even a little something for our office staff. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Thanks,
The Parent Teacher Partnership
This Requires Your Attention!
It’s May! The end of another school year! Where has the time gone?
Summer is almost upon us and we will most likely be busy having fun in the sun (or at least the kids will!). Now is the best time to renew your Safe Child certification for the next school year. Renewing doesn’t take a ton of time, but it will need to get done at some point, so why not now? In fact, we encourage you to do it now.
Stop by the office and Stephanie will show you what you need to do for your renewal.
If you’ve never completed the initial Safe Child packet, see Stephanie so she can get you all the information. Trust us when we say that it is better to do this now and not 2 weeks before a really cool field trip that you’d like to chaperone.
Invest in Kids ~ We Need Your Help!
Please visit our webpage and consider being a donor (as an individual, couple, or business owner) in the “Invest in Kids” Tax CreditScholarship Program. The process is easy!
The time to act is now as we prepare for the 2018-19 school year. The benefit for needy families is great—18 student families have qualified, and we pray that you can help us raise the $70,000 needed to help these families, most of which are military families serving our country. The benefit for the donor (individuals and businesses) is that 75 cents of every dollar donated (75% of the donation) will come back to you as a tax credit for 2018. It is a “win, win” situation for the donors and recipients!
If you need help, please ask. The “help” includes, as needed and desired, a home visit by school board members Peter Kolch or Ray Linnemann or another knowledgeable donor using your computer! The “help” can also mean sitting down with a computer here at St. John. Please contact Principal Jon Woldt to schedule your personal "help" visit: Jon.Woldt@StJohnsLib.com or 847-362-4424 ext. 2002. Please also share this news with others.
