Our members and participants include representatives from dozens of health related and service related resources such as social services, government agencies, local coalitions, health care providers, educational institutions, youth organizations, hospitals, private businesses, local and state government, and concerned individuals. All are welcome to participate in improving the health of our community.
The Council also engages in analyzing Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT analysis) facing our communities. It will consist of research, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, as well a community survey, all of this will be used to develop an Annual Work Plan to assist the council in creating a long term (5 year) Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
Without collaboration and networking, agencies, non-profits and community organizations often go in different directions, duplicating efforts and leaving gaps in the service. However, organizations that collaborate can be more effective in working toward common goals, thus avoiding gaps and duplication of services.
