Public SCLEWESWebsite, Phone message, Book-dropYesLost items only. Cash, check, or credit card.Library proper's max capacity is 745. At 30% - 223 or 60% - 447. Currently, we limit "in building" activity to a maximum of 20 people (4 households plus study rooms). All staff and volunteers must wear a mask to enter the building. All staff and volunteers submit to and record their temperatures. Social distancing is required at all time for all people in the library.
Cleaning by staff occurs after use of any particular area. Staff and volunteers wipe down all surfaces and objects that they've come in contact with. Study rooms and bathrooms are misted using a powerful disinfectant, and then hard surfaces like door knobs and faucet handles are wiped down.
All patrons must wear a mask and submit to a temperature check before entering the building. Patrons displaying a temperature of 99.1 or higher will be denied entry.COVID testing is widely available for free with no symptoms or appointment all over Delaware. There is no specific requirement for staff testing. Protocol for positive staff tests are to shut down library for 24 hours and perform a deep clean.
Should a member of the public test positive who had been in the library we'll determine which staff members interacted with them, have those staff members tested, but following all safety protocols - masks and social distancing - mitigates the need for any specific follow up.
All hard surfaces are cleaned every other hour, and before and after shifts. Small enclosed areas are misted with a powerful disinfectant. Wear a mask and submit to a temperature check prior to entering the building. All browsing is by appointment only.Only our PACs are available for patron use. Most computers have been shut down to allow for social distancing protocols. Computer use is by appointment only. Patrons have 45 minutes to use our computers. Printing and copies are free at this point. Librarians may hold socially distanced in-person programs, but our preference is that they be outside, when possible. Meeting rooms are still closed to the public and will likely remain that way until there's a vaccine. You can call the library at 302-645-2733 or send an email request to lewes.library@gmail.com. Browsing and computer appointments are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 until 6, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 until 2.No. All seating has been moved and locked into our "quiet room". There's no seating or toys available. All periodicals and newspapers have been moved.Patrons can request a "video browsing" session. Staff will walk them through the stacks via Facetime or Zoom, if requested. Both adult and children collections offer book and DVD bundles. This has been an RA dream. Often get requests for a specific genre or author with freedom given to staff to pick particular titles.N/AMaintain social distance and mask wearing.Printing is available for free. Patrons can email files to our general mailbox, upon request, and staff will print their documents and have them ready for pick-up. Additionally, patrons are welcome to use the Wifi printing to submit their documents. N/ATons - our staff have quickly adapted to the online environment. We have many synchronous, live programs for a range of ages and interests. We also have asynchronous content available on the Library's Youtube channel. The asynchronous content is mostly story times.N/ANo
