Tell the Township Committee to Opt-out of Cannabis Law
The Cranbury Township Committee is deciding whether to opt-out of the NJ Cannabis Law in the next several weeks.  Failure to opt-out by August 21 would require Cranbury to allow the cultivation, manufacture, wholesaling, distribution, and/or (and perhaps the most concerning) retail sale of recreational drugs in our town for five years.  Recreational cannabis facilities have been linked to the following:

*  Increased drug use among youth;
*  An increase in violent crime in the areas adjacent to businesses that sell recreational cannabis;
*  Increased property crimes in areas surrounding marijuana dispensaries;
*  Reduced property values of homes located near a cannabis dispensary; and
*  Significant negative environmental impact, including the possible loss of open farmland to cannabis cultivation warehouses.

Additionally, there is no need for Cranbury Township to allow these business for purposes of generating tax revenue.  The Township is currently sitting on a more than $7 million surplus to its budget.

Please fill out the form below to tell the Township Committee that you support the passing of an ordinance opting-out of all cannabis licenses permitted under the NJ Cannabis Law.
