Our COVID Mitigation Procedures for the "Shaping Our Story" Conference

The Conference Planning Team is working closely with the staff at Montreat Conference Center to put together COVID mitigation procedures to keep us as safe as possible when we meet in person in November. Please check out the procedures that are currently in place for the event.

Workshop Sessions at the "Shaping Our Story Conference"
We are excited about the workshops that will be offered during the event. Please go to the conference website to learn about these 42 sessions and the workshop presenters. Registered participants will have the opportunity to make their session selections in October.

Lodging at the "Shaping Our Story" Conference

Due to the demand for single-occupancy rooms with a private bath, we are now offering accommodations at William Black Lodge. This retreat center is located just up the hill behind Montreat's Assembly Inn. We now have single rooms with a private bath, shared bath, and a hall bath. Please see the conference website for details on these lodging options.

Our Monthly PCCCA Zoom Call Today at 11:00am Eastern
PCCCA's monthly Zoom call happens every third Thursday. Today at 11:00am EDT, we will be discussing programming at our camps and conference centers. It will be your opportunity to check in and share how summer camp went at your site. We will also have a time to share what kind of programming we have planned for the fall (and any changes we are making in light of the spread of the COVID variant). Please join us for a time of fellowship and sharing among your fellow camp and conference leaders. You can learn more about this call (and get the link) on the PCCCA website.

Call for Writers for the New Curriculum for Senior High Leadership Programs
PCCCA is partnering with UKirk Collegiate Ministries and the Office of Christian Formation of the Presbyterian Mission Agency to produce summer camp curriculum for Senior High Leadership Programs at our member sites. This resource will be made available at the beginning of next year. PCCCA is currently seeking a writer for a six-day curriculum that relates to discovering ourselves and God's purpose for us, and the ways God calls us throughout our lives. The chosen writer will submit an annotated outline by October 26, the first full draft by November 16, and the final draft by December 10. The writer will be paid $750. If you are interested in learning more about being a writer, please contact Joel Winchip before September 30.

The Focus Event at Stony Point Center
Do you know someone who is discerning a call to outdoor ministry? Perhaps a member of your summer staff now wants to work year-round at a camp or conference center.. The Focus Event is a weekend program that is specifically designed for these kinds of people. The event will be held at Stony Point Center (Stony Point, NY) on December 10-12. The brochure with online registration for this event is available on the PCCCA website.

ACA's Faith-Based Camp Kindred Series
Beginning Wednesday, October 6th at 3:00pm ET, the American Camp Association will offer a time to support and be supported by others in the faith-based camp community. The first session, in collaboration with Project Real Job, will focus on staffing concerns shared by fellow leaders in faith-based camping. Subsequent sessions on other topics will be held in December, March, and April. One free registration signs you up for all four sessions; (and ACA membership is not required). You can learn more by going to the ACA website.
