Our Monthly PCCCA Zoom Call is on Thursday, October 20 at 11:00am Eastern
A week from tomorrow, our time together will focus on the topic of stewardship. So much of fundraising requires time. You have every intention of staying in contact with the donor who made a generous gift. But then, weeks and months go by and now it’s time to ask that same donor for another gift. How confident will you feel knowing you’ve neglected that donor? Acknowledging Generosity – also known as Stewardship – is an integral part in the Relationship Fundraising Method. Join Mark Duncan, CEO of The FundCoach, as he talks about the importance of stewardship and how it can ensure a sustainable major gifts program. We hope you will join us for a time of fellowship and sharing among your fellow camp and conference leaders. You can get the link for this call by going to the PCCCA website.

2022 OMC Director Survey
Every other year, PCCCA and our Outdoor Ministries Connection partners conduct a survey of camp and retreat center directors. Research is one of the key ways we work with these ecumenical partners to map the landscape of outdoor ministries and tell the story of our ministries' contributions to the church and society. As in the past, please complete one survey per ministry organization. Please complete the survey to continue this valuable research.

More Insurance Options are Needed for Nonprofits
Many of our camps and conference centers have experienced the stress of not being able to find affordable insurance. In a recent U.S. Senate hearing, Chairman Sen. Sherrod Brown voiced strong support to improve the availability of insurance to nonprofits. Your help is needed. Please read about this important issue and consider voicing your support for increasing insurance options for nonprofits.

Marketing Your Site to a National Audience
Does your camp or conference center have facilities and/or programs that could relate to a more national audience? The Association of Partners in Christian Education will have their 2023 annual event in Birmingham, AL on January 24-27. If you think your camp or conference center might be interested in being a part of PCCCA's joint booth presence in APCE's exhibit hall, please contact Joel Winchip for more information.

From Our PCCCA Business Member: Watch the Board of Pensions’ Video on Wholeness
Led by Rev. Lori Neff LaRue, this two-minute video examines how when we are whole in all areas – spiritual, health, financial, and vocational – we are able to live our best lives and flourish. Wholeness is rooted in the biblical references of shalom; it’s about a place where we are restored, something that is at the heart of camp and conference center ministry. Lori will be leading a session next month at the Annual Conference on Recapturing the Joy of Ministry.

Do You Need to Renew Your PCCCA Membership?
We hope you are enjoying our new Membership System. We sent email invites to all of our sites before the summer. You just click on the link in that email and create a password. Once you arrive at your site's page in the system, you are able to edit the members on your account, update the text and pictures in your listings on search engine websites, and (if needed) renew your membership with a check or credit card. If you haven't created an account and can't find your invite (it may have gotten caught by your spam filter), just ask PCCCA to send you a new one.

The Focus Event in December
Do you know someone who is discerning a call to outdoor ministry? Perhaps it is a member of your summer staff who now wants to work year-round at a camp or retreat center. The Focus Event is a weekend program that is specifically designed for these people. The event will be held at Cedar Crest Camp (Lyles, TN) on December 2-4. The brochure for this event is available on the PCCCA website.

Maintenance Connection in February/March
Are you looking to add another tool to your camp and conference ministry toolbox? Maintenance Connection will be held at Crestfield Camp and Conference Center (45 minutes north of Pittsburgh) on February 27 to March 3, 2023. This gathering is intended for anyone who is responsible for the upkeep and repair of Christian camps and conference centers throughout the United States and Canada. Staff, volunteers, and board members are invited to attend. We hope you will join us for fellowship, learning, and renewal. You can learn more about this event by going to the program brochure.

Help Your Campers Discover a Spirit-filled Life
FruitFULL Faith: A Spirit-Filled Life is the theme for the 2023 summer camp curriculum from InsideOut. Help your campers find and share the Gift’s of God as they explore the “Fruits of the Spirit” found in Paul’s letter to the Church in Galatia. New Opportunities for Student Loan Forgiveness
The Presbyterian Mission Agency is offering support to PC(USA) leaders with student loan debt by providing free counseling and monthly webinars. Due to a change in religious worker exclusion rules made in July 2021 and the recently announced “Limited Opportunity Waiver,” PC(USA) leaders who may not have qualified for Public Service Loan Forgiveness could have their loans forgiven sooner than expected. Visit the PC(USA) website to sign up for a webinar and/or access coaching from PeopleJoy student loan partners.
