Our Monthly PCCCA Zoom Call is Today at 11:00am Eastern
PCCCA's monthly Zoom call happens every third Thursday. At 11:00am Eastern today, our call will focus on the mix of campers we will have this summer. The list of attendees each week will include pre-pandemic campers, some who may have only experienced our virtual programming, those who attended last summer’s limited weeks due to COVID, and brand new campers. How do we handle this mix? What can we do to orient this group (and their parents) to prepare them for their week at camp? Changes have likely been made in facilities, policies, pricing, etc. How do we help our parents and alumni networks understand these necessary changes?
We hope you will join us for a time of fellowship and sharing among your fellow camp and conference leaders. You can learn more about this call (and get the link) by going to the PCCCA website.

Thank You for Logging into the New Membership System
We appreciate all of our sites that logged into PCCCA's new membership system. You clicked on the link in the invitation email and created a password. Once you arrived at your site's page in the system, you were able to edit the members on your account, make sure that we have the right location for you in Google Maps, update the text and pictures in your listings on search engine websites, and (if needed) renew your membership with a check or credit card. If you have not logged into the system yet, please find your email invite or ask Joel Winchip to send another one (it could have ended up in your spam folder). Thank you!

Edit Your Listing on  BestSummerYet.com
The online search engine that brings potential summer camp families to your website has been re-launched. Members now have the opportunity to edit the text and photos in your BestSummerYet.com listing by logging into the new membership system. PCCCA members will regain access to their listing on BookARetreat.com in the coming months.

What About Your Member Benefit Discounts?
Organizational members receive special discounts with 33 companies and organizations. When you log into the new membership system, the link to the Member Benefit discount codes will be found in the menu at the top of your site's listing (if you don't see it, you probably need to renew your membership). Taking advantage of one or two of these discounts could save your site more money than you pay in membership dues.

Giving Listing Access to Other Members on Your Account
Do you want other staff and/or board/committee members to have access to your site's listing in the new membership system? When you are logged onto your page, you will see an invite button to the right of each person associated with your account. When you click on that button, an email invitation will be sent to that individual. After they create a password, they will have access to all the features of your page including member discounts and the ability to update the text and pictures in your listings on SummerToRemember.com and BestSummerYet.com (and soon BookARetreat.com as well).

Seeking Writers for the InsideOut Curriculum
Do you love camp? Is writing camp curriculum what you were born to do? Please consider writing for InsideOut Church Camp Resources! The 2024 curriculum’s writer application form is now available. Complete the application and then send it with a writing sample by the extended deadline of April 25. You can learn more by going to the InsideOut website.

Last of the Images for Summer Staff Recruitment
As of today, we have finished producing social media images to help with your summer staff recruitment efforts. You can now use any of the 60 graphics. Each is available in three versions: one for Facebook, one for Instagram, and one in a 16:9 widescreen format. We hope these will be helpful to your camp or conference ministry. PCCCA would like to thank our partners in this project, the Office of Christian Formation of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and UKirk Collegiate Ministries.

Compass Points Council Meets in March
The Coordinating Council for the Compass Points Certificate Program met at Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA) on March 20-23. This brought together representatives from PCCCA, Lutheran Outdoor Ministries, Outdoor Ministries Association of the United Church of Christ, Episcopal Camps and Conference Centers, and the United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries. The Council considered locations and faculty for future classes. They also met with the seminary's Dean of Faculty, Dr. Love Sechrest, and had lunch with the seminary faculty who will teach our October classes (pictured here). The future is bright for our certificate program and we hope you will consider being a part of a class (or two) at Calvin Center (Hampton, GA) on October 16-22. You can learn about these courses (and register) at www.compasspointsprogram.org.

OMC Interim Director Training on September 26-30
The Interim Director Training offered by the Outdoor Ministries Connection will be hosted by Camp Allen in Navasota, Texas. Leadership transitions can be challenging. Your gifts can help camp and retreat sites enter their next season of ministry. As an Interim Director, you will bring blessings to the holy spaces that God uses to bring people deeper in their faith journey. You can learn more about this training (and register now) by going to the event website.
