In 2022, the University of California, Student Association is hosting their 4th Annual event at the State Capital. Black Lobby Day is an event organized by the Racial Justice Now campaign committee in collaboration with Black Student Unions across California's UC system.
ALL TRAVEL AND LODGING WILL BE COVERED BY YOUR EVP OFFICE! (i.e. if you go to UCLA, it'll be covered by UCLA's EVP office) This event is an opportunity for Black students to organize within their own community and vocalize their needs surrounding issues that directly affect the way in which they're able to navigate their daily lives and institutions alike.
Last year, Black Lobby Day called attention to police/white supremacist violence on campuses and in communities, not only by introducing new bill language and priorities but also by lobbying for bills AB 26, AB 48, and SB 16.
Participating in Black Lobby Day gives Black students the opportunity to utilize UCSA's platform and engage in politics that works in their best interest. It is structured to serve as a productive space and event to speak directly with legislators and their staff members about issues surrounding Black students' well-being and livelihood.
This is JUST an interest form so we can follow up with more information. If you have ANY questions, comments, or concerns in the meantime, feel free to contact us at
