The Alzheimer's Cafe Model: A Guide to Getting Started in Your Community
The Alzheimer's Cafe (or Memory Cafe) model has become a popular and effective way to promote social connection among people with memory loss and their loved ones. In this free webinar, discover how to bring this model to your community. Learn about identifying partners, selecting a host site, planning, promoting and running the program. Note that this is a repeat of a DAC webinar offered in January 2018, in response to high demand.

Presenter Cecily Kaplan, Director of the Greenwood Senior Center, helped launch the first Alzheimer's Cafe in Washington State in 2010.

The webinar is hosted by the Dementia-Friendly Communities Project Team of the Washington State Dementia Action Collaborative:
Marigrace Becker, UW Memory & Brain Wellness Center
Christina Clem, AARP Washington
Hilarie Hauptman, Aging and Long-term Support Administration, DSHS
Cathy Knight, Aging and Disability Services
Lynne Korte, Aging and Long-term Support Administration, DSHS
Cathy Maccaul, AARP Washington
