AWE- Academy for Women Entrepreneurs is an international program funded by the American Center Cairo at the U.S. Embassy Cairo. AWE promotes women’s economic opportunities and ensures women have the capabilities and resources needed to participate in the economy by providing early women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, resources, and networks needed to start and scale their successful businesses.
The program targets 60 women from 15 different Egyptian governorates. It will be conducted over 2 cohorts, each cohort will last for five weeks. All women entrepreneurs will tweak their business models, develop and validate their MVP and finally pitch their business ideas to a group of experts in the final competition of each cohort. A winner and two runners-up will be awarded grants for their projects.
Participants Criteria:
- Women
- Age range (22 - 40).
- Priority to residents of Upper Egypt and Delta regions.
- Students or graduates.
- Idea/Prototype for a revenue-generating startup.
- Having a team (minimum of 2 female founders) working on the idea.
- Intermediate level of English Language.
- Actively participates in capacity-building activities/events/programs.
- Ability to commit to the five-week online program.
