Darkness At Its Best

This book was dark, disturbing, demented and delightful. I know it’s a contradiction in description but I always love a MC book that is not afraid to take me to dark places. Lily has been traumatized which made her into the killer she is now. She is a member of the RBMC and uses her skill set to seek revenge and protect those she loves.

Zane/Chaos has lived with his own demons and now he and Lily are a force to be reckoned with. What a great gritty, dark quick read that leaves me wanting for more.

The RBMC is just a favorite MC series. Each book by this author has been titled for the male main character. I was so happy to see that this one is not. Our MMC is Chaos. Why? Because he's Chaos. We've been reading about Lily and her trauma so this book is her dedication.

When Chaos and his brother approach the RBMC it's just a little heads up that they'll be making trouble with an ally. Lily finds herself pulled into the brothers cause. She proposes that Chaos helps her solve an old issue and she will help him. Hers is much more personal and painful but when Chaos finds out he's going to be a terror to her past. These two are just perfect for each other. Both have terrible pasts and they just need help. Chaos finds his in Lily. Lily is his Havoc.

I strongly urge anyone to read the whole series because it's very connected. This is a fine standalone but to get the best experience is knowing the other characters and how they merge throughout the series.
The author is also fabulous for dropping in the fellow brothers from the RBMC that K Webster writes. I love these stories. Packed with darkness and the passion. Lily Havoc has much more coming for her so stay tuned...

Every time I start one of Kers stories, they're over with too fast, Lily and Zane are amazing characters and I cannot wait for the next instalment of Lilys journey, that's the only trouble with Kers stories you get addicted and need more, I knew I should've waited until the whole series was completed, fantastic, well worth the time.

This is a tough review because it was a definite 5 stars until the end. I loved Lilly and Chaos was perfection with her. The story was excellent. Then the ending. This story was just a lead-in to another series. So no hea and not even a hfn. Feels like a bait and switch not realizing that because I expected a typical Royal Bastards read. Instead I feel confused and a little disappointed.

I didn't realise that this was a novella (must have missed it somewhere.) I don't usually buy them because I prefer to lose myself in a full length book. However I did enjoy it as a continuation of Ruby's story. Chaos & Lily's story was good but felt rushed, with a lot being squeezed in. I was just getting in to it, when it was the end!! Lesson learnt with that one 🙄
I will probably read any others that come out as I enjoy the RBMC world.
