Hunter Hinze Fund Now Taking Applications
The Hunter Hinze Fund was created to honor the memory of Hunter Hinze, pictured above. Applications are being accepted throughout May. The scholarships help adults with autism live their dreams and maximize their potential as they transition throughout adulthood. Funds should be used for services and supports that would provide autonomy, skill development; or a sense of purpose that promotes self-sufficiency and fosters independence. Information and application here.
Texas Autism Advocacy Day
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Capitol on Friday April 26th! We had over 120 attendees and visited 160 legislative offices to discuss the needs of autistic children and adults across the lifespan! Representative Gina Hinojosa recognized us on the House floor and met with attendees, and Representative Briscoe Cain, who just recently announced his own autism diagnosis, took time to speak to everyone. Representative James Talarico and Representative John Bucy III spoke at our press conference about their dedication to helping pass legislation to improve the lives of those with autism. We are truly grateful to the many legislators that met with our advocates, as well as the organizations and sponsors that supported this event! You can see more photos in our Facebook album.

The Texas Legislative session is over at the end of May. We continue to support our legislative priorities through testifying, helping others to testify, and making legislative visits. To receive advocacy alerts please register below for our email list.
